Download twitter on your smartphone and turn on notifications for FFF. They will most likely sell some tickets in person at the pub in the upcoming 6 weeks. It could literally be any day and is most likely going to happen early in the morning.

 

When is the last time they sold in person tickets? I dont there were any last year at all.

 

They did last year, but it was on a Tuesday IIRC. They definitely did in 2014 as I got an A that way.

EDIT: Just looked it up. They sold group A in person on the first Tuesday during April. It was announced before 6 am. My guess is they waited until the tickets were printed before putting them on sale.

 

For those interested - we have a shuttle running to and from LP Binny's on DLD - looking for a few more folks to round out the bus. Leave at 7 AM to go to FFF, leave FFF at 7:30 PM, returning to LP Binny's. Shoot me a PM if interested. $20 a head round trip - the ride back is always a great time and worth the price of admission alone.

 

Quick question for the group. I know we're allowed to bring unopened bottles to DLD. Would a sealed, flip-top 750 growler be considered an "unopened bottle" or no?

 

To add to this, what about growlers just in general.

 

Damn, Already bought my shuttle tickets from the Open Bottle. I'll have to remember this for next year.

 

Bad News: I was finally kicked out of the queue at some point yesterday afternoon...
Good News: Around the same time, an awesome friend offered my husband and I two extra tickets at cost.

For the most part, the craft beer community is still filled with awesome people. Looking forward to DLD!

 

I honestly really appreciate the fact that you stayed in the queue until yesterday. I was genuinely curious how long the site would allow that. Congrats, and thanks for doing god's work!

 

My buddy has brought growlers in to the fest past years. I don't know if that will change this year or not.

Shouldn't be an issue. As mentioned prior, just be social, willing to pour and others will pour. Theres tons of non-whales at the event and lots of them.

 

I don't think people care what you bring, as long as it's obvious you tried (you didn't bring a bunch of FFF stuff you found at a liquor store the night before you went to DLD, you didn't bring a case of 312, etc.). There's so much good shit flowing at DLD that it's hard to be super picky about what others brought. Obviously there might be exceptions, but in general, people just want to drink/share good stuff with other people who are of like mind.

 

If you can't bring sick whalezz bring fresh local beer. You're going to meet people from all over the world who have never had beer from wherever you are from. Last year everyone was losing their shit over Square Grouper. I must have had 6 pours of it.

 

Me and a buddy are Group D coming from Austin/Houston... really pissed I missed out on Group A. I definitely tried lol. We will definitely be repping Texas bringing bottles up, hopefully we can sync up with some groups here and have a good time . I saw some people into cigars.. really into that haha. Cool to see some other texas groups also!

 

Folks need to stop worrying about what to bring. In the unlikely case that someone gives you a hard time about what you brought they're a dickhead and you shouldn't care about their opinion anyways.
