Craft & Commerce in San Diego does a great beer cocktail called Up In Smoke that mixes Allagash Curieux, Laphroaig 10 year, fuji apple, and lime. Probably my favorite that I've had.

I have never had/made a beer cocktail. Maybe it is time I try some, it sounds like there are some delicious ones out there. I don't mind mixing different alcohols and have never had a problem because of it but my brain just doesn't think of mixing beer and other things at the moment. I am sure there are endless possibilities with dessert-like stout cocktails.

A bar I went to was doing a drink called a dirty hipster. It was well gin, mt. dew and miller highlife. People ordered the hell out of them.

I went to a bar once and had a red woody, which was just framboise lambic mixed with Woodchuck. It was pretty tasted. One of the things I like is a shot of good bourbon in Samuel Adams Cream Stout. That really works well together on a cold night.

Have made one that consisted of Green Flash IPA, Smalls Gin, Pineapple Juice and Lime. Pretty delicious stuff.

On it's own, I'm not a fan. When blended with certain beers it adds maple, butterscotch and vanilla sweetness which can be really complimentary.

A restaurant in Houston called Beaver's has a cocktail called the Republic 175. It's made from gin, angostura bitters, some lemon, and a can of Bombshell Blonde!

A stout, sometimes one that does not taste good on its own, and an .5-1oz (depending how much you've already had) of coffee Patron.

I'd drink it if they replaced the Mt.Dew with Ginger Ale ... can't do the Dew. Fucking poison.

I used to put Tequila in my Budweiser, but I stopped making them...

Seriously though...Summer time I make an IPA mojito...Basically a rum mojito with IPA in it. Pretty good stuff if you're looking to get shitty! I think I'm gonna do my own version of a Mexican Bulldog this summer!!!

I know I am pulling up an old thread, but this is a topic that has recently become of interest to me.

A good friend of mine is the bar manager at a new restaurant in town. He knows a lot about beer, but has asked me to collaborate with him on some beer cocktails. There are some pretty interesting things in this list that we'll have to try. I came up with one the other day and thought I'd share

    any IPA
    1.5oz of dry vermouth
    a dash of bitters.
It was really nice and the dry vermouth was a really good. Better than when we tried it with sweet vermouth.

So when your a kid you would play tball then go up and get your free coke and ask for a suicide. It was every type of soft drink they had mixed together. So at my favorite bar last week we tried this on beer. One of them was Guiness on nitro, a sour, 512 IPA and 10 others. When we all tasted it we felt like we were drinking an "English Pub Beer" I mean what we all thought we would be having if we were being rained on constantly and cold. It was interesting and we will try it each week, taps change that often.

I was going to post on here that the topic of this thread sounds like a good way to ruin both the beer and booze you'd be using to make the cocktail however the recipe you posted does look quite delicious. I will definitely have to try it!

So a couple weeks ago I was feeling a bit adventurous with my brew and decided to try something out. I was drinking a fresh bottle of Double Jack and put a shot of Nocello (hazelnut liqueur) into about a 14oz pour. The result was amazing! Has anyone experimented with beer cocktails, and what are your favorite combinations?

Dammit, not this thread topic again. I'm a purist, and have generally hated any mixes I've attempted

    I mixed Stone's 16th IPA and 10th Ruination.
It was pretty good, not amazing. Beers were better alone.

    I called it Stone's 1610 Ruined IPA

Not into fooling around with mixes. I like my beer as it comes from the brewery.
