Speaking of which, what kind of crowd should one expect to see on the 26th (Homestead)? The bottles are already bought, so no rush there, but between glasses/shirts being available and (thought I read) some of the collection may be available on draft, kinda preparing for there to be a crowd. Asking because probably going to have at least one kid with me.

Initially was going to be out of town and wasn't going to pick up allotment until that second weekend in April, but now plan to show up at 11AM on 26th and stick around for a drink or two.

Definitely going to be stupid. Everyone want to try them on draft and it's not going to last very long.

At first thought I didn't think it would be too bad, but between what Mike said about possible limited barware and with the Black Magick being in this release, I could see it being packed. Especially if the weather is nice. Last year's Barrel Room 3 release was absolutely slammed, and that release didn't have the caliber of lineup this one seems to have. Although some of that could be contributed to crowds coming over from the Gratitude release as well as it was on St. Patrick's Day last year.

You should absolutely be ok with your child though, especially if you're going that early.

Gratitude question.. reading over the comments in the past couple of pages, it would seem that it's best days are behind it? (like 2008??) or am I not reading enough between the lines?

It's still really good but it's stupid expensive for a non-barrel aged barleywine. I believe the "best days behind it" is regarding trade value, which it used to trade very well and now crickets.

Was talking to a guy the other day who had recently visited BrewGent. He was really pleased with the beers and asked if he could see their set up. From what I gathered, while talking to one of the owners/brewers? he noticed some TreeHouse cans and mentioned how he liked their beers as well. The owner/brewer? said yeah TreeHouse has been a huge help with their beers (referring to TH teaching them how to make IPA's) .... Anyone have any more insight on this?

Getting a babysitter for that day. Can't get there until 3ish so hopefully some barrel room offerings will still be on.

Should probably book the same sitter for the May 28th beer benefit at Gilfillan Farms, instead of harassing me with questions about preambulatory growlers.

Yep, likely babysitter and solo. Wife has a bachelorette party in Texas that weekend. Either that or just let them wander around south hills mall.

Any info you can provide for this event? I looked at at their FB page and there really was not much there.

I'll PM you event poster and some deets, answer any questions you might have. Goes for anyone else too. Realize this isn't on everyone's radar/calendar, but was fun last year and did raise a bunch of money for the farm.

Edit: checking out the pics from last year will give an idea of the event platform.

What good are you then if you won't be in Meadville!!!!

@brother_rebus are you in Meadville the 26th

Looks like the cupcakes are gonna be anywhere from 2 dozen per recipe to a little more, minus what I eat on Friday.

Speaking of Cupcakes, for those coming to Meadville.

    3rd Cupcake Features ManBearPig.

It is a ManBearPig Dark Chocolate Cupcake with Barrel Room Honey Bourbon Ganache and a Smokey Barrel Room Maple Syrup Buttercream.

I would so gif this...if not for fear of deletion. But picture mind blown gifs. Sorry to hear we can't pair them with drafts in Homestead that day. If we could even just smell them, that'd be great.

Haha yeah no way the wife would have enough hours in the day to make them for both locations. We're lucky we convinced her nicely to make them for Meadville every release!
