As soon as its more readily available it just won't taste as good! (though then perhaps I'll actually get the chance to try some)

Tree House is a great Brewer, their beers never disappoint. I have waited numerous hours in line for their beer. Each time, I swore never again. But, I returned. It's wonderful news for the TH team and their fans.

Securing enough hops was my first thought. What they do with hops and malted and fermented beverages is wizardry. Hope they keep the magic on a larger scale.

Charlton is a lot easier to get to than Monson. Convenient from the Mass Turnpike, I'm looking forward to this opening

Annual Truth/Give Me Truth releases in Monson, perhaps?

I don't see demand shrinking whatsoever with the move. In fact, it will only increase. Quality wise, if anyone legitimately says it has dropped with the past 2 moves, you're crazy. These guys know what they're doing. I will continue to trade the shit out of their beer.

Don't assume that they can't get it rezoned. Charlton would love the tax revenue. They operate out of a farm now. Charlton is pretty cheap by New England standards. 30 acres zoned commercial closer to Boston would worth much, much more. Their blog suggests that the land is essentially rural farmland.

It's all true. We started talking with the TH gang last year about an addition to the then-brand-new Monson facility, what with the well-earned success that was streaming in the door. As planning began, the guys decided to pursue a new and fresh tack - which is what you're learning right now. Details will be forthcoming - we will follow the lead of our clients as far as disclosure. Suffice it to say that we are super psyched about the projects we have brewing right now: Tree House in Charlton, The Alchemist in Stowe, Fox Farm in Salem, CT. and others soon to be revealed.

Once more people can get. Their ratings will drop. Harder to get beers always get a higher rating

That really doesn't make them any less tasty or enjoyable. I look at Stone Enjoy By as an example, rating has gone done but, for me, the 2.14.16 Unfiltered might have been the best one yet...

Do people really use the ratings here to decide what beer to buy?

If I'm not familiar with it I'll ask someone at the store or I'll just take a flyer every once in a while.

One would also guess that with that much land they might start growing hops, grains or spices to use in small batches of beer. It will be interesting to see how they develop the property.

Look at Trillium. Their beer isn't sitting. And everything I've bought in Canton has been phenomenal.

I'm so tired of reading this thought (usually mad by people who haven't actually had TH). I personally drink TH because I consider it to be the best out there. Their beers suit my tastebuds to a T. I couldn't care less about their ratings. One of my favorites is MA and it is rated in the 80's. I don't think rareity is what makes TH great, it is quality.

Yea, so much this. As long as TH keeps making phenomenal beers, I really don't care what other people rate it. They make some of the best IPAs I've tasted, and if they're more readily available that can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Just saying the trade value and the demand will go down. I am not saying the beer isn't great. Just stating the fact that in general hard to get beers get better ratings. Weather they deserve it or not. I am happy about the expansion.

Standing in long lines also drives the rating up. People need to convince themselves the 3 hour wait was justified. I like most TH beers, but I just think there are comparable/better beers closer to me that have virtually no wait. With the new expansion, I can see myself going out there if I can make more of my time than just standing in a 2-3 hour line for beer.

That's why I consider "trade value" to be a meaningless concept that is of no value. Entirely too much BS gets spewed around here by people trying to somehow influence trade values one way or the other.

While this might be true to a marginal extent, I'm not sure it'll make a huge difference for ratings. Just look at Heady - it has over 2,000 reviews, 6x as many as Julius (TH's most-reviewed beer), and it's still sitting pretty as the #5 ranked beer.

I do agree that trade "value" will go down, but this is the obvious result of increased supply. I don't think demand will go down - if anything demand will increase at first because TH will have greater perceived attainability. After time, however, as more people tick TH beers of their lists, that demand might decline, but TH's beers are phenomenal enough that I could see a large number of traders wanting to consistently trade for TH beers.

I keep seeing references to 3 hour waits, but this is never the case for cans. Sometimes there might be a 3 hour wait for growlers on the busiest of times (Good Morning), but otherwise this is a gross overstatement. Wait for cans rarely exceeds an hour and as long as you go after the opening rush it's really pretty quick.

There is NEVER a 3 hour wait even for growlers. I have been on GM days and for Very Hazy and Very Green and the longest I waited was 1:45 minutes ever. Cans are almost always 30 min or less.

I don't think they have any immediate plans to distribute. Draft offerings will be more frequent and limits will increase in the near term. Maybe a limited MA distribution similar to Trillium over the first 2 years of the new place being open with the end goal maybe being New England. Nate would never distribute where the beer was going to sit in warehouses, on truck or in package stores for months. Just won't happen.

I don't think the trade value of the beer will really be affected at all. If you don't live in New England the only way you're getting the beer is via trade. There should be more beer for people in NE to trade but again shouldn't really affect trade values all too much.

Just because they sold no equity in the company does not mean they did not obtain financing for the land/ building/ equipment. I would think they most certainly did or will be financing a portion of these costs.
