I think most people consider them somewhere in the metal category. I know this is off topic for this thread, but did anyone try their beer? Any good?

 

I consider them hard rock not at all metal.

 

I liked the beer quite a bit. It was a dark sour. When I had it last I didn't like it as much, either didn't age well, or my palate changed.

 

Clutch can be considered metal. Remember metal is a very broad category that includes stuff like Led Zeppelin, glam metal like Poison, nu-metal like Korn etc.. stuff that you might not associate with death , doom, or thrash metal. Clutch is sort of alt-metal/hard rock/grunge mix they take some influence from Pantera which is certainly metal.

I don't think they really fit in with DLD though, of course there have been bands like Mucca Pazza, Monotonix, and Big Freedia at DLD so...

 

I feel like if Three Floyd's was pulling out the big guns for bands, they'd choose groups like Slayer, Napalm Death, or Agoraphobic Nosebleed.

 

Two stores nearby on Indianapolis Blvd.; The Liquor Stop and Cask and Cellar. Lots of local stuff at both. The is a new Binny's in Mokena IL. however that may be outside your radius. If you are driving in from PA, check out Wise Guys in Merrillville, IN just off of I65 on your way home. I have not been in there in awhile, but the store is huge.

 

Been said before in here, but just to make sure you know -- If you're planning to hit a bottle shop, it can't be on Sunday. Producers (Breweries) are the only ones who are allowed to sell carry-out liquor on Sunday in Indiana.

 

I don't care who they get to play. FFF always gets solid bands for DLD.

 

Right, forgot to add that. Indiana liquor laws suck.

 

I would be happy if they got Nekrogoblikon. That would be a good time.

 

My brother and I will also be there; if I don't see anything when we check in I'll put a sign up in the lobby for a bottle share around 7pm or so. If you guys want anything from KY/OH distro let me know.

yikes, the hotel situation. anyone know if there are waitlists at the Hampton/the marriotts? never had a problem getting one of the Marriott locations this far out before :-/

also, has anyone uber'd to/from DLD before - what's it like? (also, ugh, particularly late - grp E this yr...)

 

Ive heard of people calling the Hampton in past years, Im sure some rooms will open/did open after people who were expecting to get tickets didn't.

 

I have no doubt hotels in the area have waitlists. You should call and be added because people will be cancelling/changing reservations.

 

AirBnB showing some availability in the area if you want to go that route...

 

Hampton in Schererville is showing rooms available for that weekend.

 

That is where we are. Fucking 6 of us in one room. I hate my life. I would be more then willing to spring, but no one else is.
