How about the guy who pays homeless people that walk by to mule the cycle bottles. And they don't care that he does it.

Seems like a win, win, win. Homeless guy gets paid, cycle gets money from beer, guy gets beer! </sarcasm>

They would be putting themselves in a difficult situation. Are they supposed to deny service to any person who looks like they could potentially be a vagrant? That's a civil rights lawsuit waiting to happen. And once a person pays for the bottles (ie if they followed the guy outside and realized he was muling), they are pretty much powerless to stop him, as he now owns those bottles.

The bottom line is, the system Doug currently employs works well, it is fair, and it is efficient. Is it perfect? No. There are ways that douches can exploit the system and get extra beer, but it's an incredibly small number of jerks who are using illicit means to get extra bottles. And quite frankly, i don't think it's worth the extra effort / having to treat every one of your customers like a potential criminal to weed out the 5-10 jerks.

On the contrary, he certainly cares and doesn't like it a bit. He also is "less than fond" of those that immediately put his bottles up for sale jacked up. (just like everyone should be) He's watching and isn't dumb.

Heard someone ended up a case of W's yesterday using this exact method...for the most part all week it went great though with most respecting Doug's System...M-F Release Event is fast becoming my favorite part of TBBW

I heard that Doug had turned away homeless mules earlier in the week. Saw it mentioned a few times on social media

Easy solution. If he sees it happen. Ban that person from future sales. And he clearly saw it happen. the guy was bragging to Doug that he was paying each homeless person five bucks to mule him bottles as he was doing it.

We all know who it is.

I heard the same. We obviously know what the OBB bottle is now. I also heard Pallet 5 as another bonus bottle. Cognac as the barrel

    Cycles FB post:

Final Announcements for BA Day, please read if you are attending.

Checking In - You can check in at the shuffleboard club starting as early as 8 AM, or as close to that time as Doug can get there. You will be able to get a wristband when you check in and that means your ID has been checked and you can simply walk in at 12. We highly recommend checking in before 12, ID's matched to a list takes time, it will be slow if there is a huge line. You will not be allowed to go into the courts early, so this should be a quick stop and then go get breakfast, or beers, or whatever else besides hanging around the courts. At check in, instructions regarding lining up, which direction (this matters) etc will be given out, pretty basic but we need to respect the other things happening around there.

Wristbands - This is your warning, don't mess around with yours or take it off unless you are done for the day, these are what we will collect when you get your bottle and you can't come back in without it. So bottles are on your way out.

Bottles - Friday is a Colorado Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with Cocoa Nibs and Vanilla Beans. We will have an extra bottle available for anybody wishing to purchase one, they will be $30, the limit is 1, and we will take your wristband when you collect this and your included bottle. No mules, no extras of any kind. There is enough for everybody (barely) so please don't feel pressure to get in any lines, this is something to get when you are done for the day.

We will have 2 tap stations, they will have identical beers to start, identical quantities of each beer, and identical backup kegs so unless one station has an incredible run on a particular beer and the other doesn't you can stand in either line with confidence that you will get something tasty at the front.

Parking - Kind of covered, basically if it looks like a perfect parking lot next to the courts, pretend it doesn't exist. This is at your own risk, so those feeling risky can do whatever they please but this is our advice.

The Shuffleboard Club - This is a cool place that we are a big a fan of and we want to be allowed back so some basic ground rules are: DONT WALK ON THE COURTS. Please. Bottle shares and that jazz are just fine but try not to have a bunch of glass on the courts. We said try. Pick up your trash, if you make a mess please don't ignore it so it gets worse.

Lastly, we will be open at the bar at 10 AM, there isn't a whole lot of free parking down by the bar either since its Friday but its a 5 minute walk from the courts and you can open bottles, get beers, buy shirts and glassware, all without hassle.

Tap listing coming in the morning, see you tomorrow!
