Looks like a local bar upstate has it going on tap tonight, anyone have a review and recommend seeking it out?

The Short Dark and Extra Handsome has little to no carb but tastes good. The new Mosaic IPA that's making the rounds doesn't even compare to the previous Mosaic IPA batches. So much bitterness. This should've just been poured down the drain. Do they have shift brewers over there now that they're globe trotting around the world doing all these collabs? If so, it's very noticeable.

I was wondering this as well. Haven't had the new Mosaic (passed on it after reading negative comments), but they seem to be on the other side of the country all week so they must have shift brewers here, right?

Beer takes weeks to make and ferment. Average turn around on a hoppy beer is probably 3 weeks on the fast side depending on how long you dry hop. So the Mosaic you're tasting was probably brewed by the regular brewing staff.

MGN is on tap at Ginger Man right now. Will probably give it a try after work tomorrow.

Gingerman is a bit of a stretch for me, MGN goes on at 8pm tonight. I'll report back with my thoughts

Early reviews of MGN on Untappd are good, not great. Apparently the 9% isn't that well hidden.

I went down to Ginger Man for lunch and had a pour, its good, def Cascade flavors, slightly boozy, but not terrible, so yes the alcohol could be hidden a bit more i think

This craze of getting IPAs as fresh as possible has tilted in the wrong direction. Yes, no one wants a 3 month old IPA, but 1 day old is not necessarily the best either.

Drinking Make It Rain now, this stuff is so good. Beautiful orange looking beer, awesome smell, so tasty. Think this moves into a top 5 OH beer for me.

I'm comfortable with this assessment. I feel like Make It Rain is severely underrated. I'd say this is a hair below Street Green and 2nd Anniversary.

Cheers! Better than 2nd Anni, below Street Green.

For the record my Other Half top 10 in no order:

    1) OG AGE
    2) OG Nelson
    3) OG Greenbacks
    4) OG Mosaic
    5) Make it Rain
    6) Street Green
    7) Green Diamonds
    8) OG Small Green
    9) Doug

and 10 would be one I have certainly overlooked.

I completely agree. I've had plenty of IPAs 2-3 months out that I thought were great. Sure, I'd prefer a fresher IPA (~2-3 weeks) but I'm so over people who pass up on IPAs because they didn't come right off the canning line and think that IPAs only taste good less than 2 weeks in.

I was talking to someone recently (2 weekends ago I believe) who said he didn't get a chance to try Lambo Door. I told him that new shipments dropped in Brooklyn recently and he could find some on his way home. He said "Eh, it's like a month old now so I'll pass..."

Top 10 for me would be, in no order:

    1. Green Diamonds
    2. 2nd Anniversary
    3. Nelson
    4. Mosaic
    5. Street Green
    6. In Absentia Luci aged in Red Wine Barrels (this is def top 3 for me)
    7. AGE
    8. Greenbacks
    9. Nice Life
    10. Foodre Joose

If strictly talking about OH IPA's, then I would squeeze Stacks On Stacks into the list somewhere
