I think having undetermined variant in random bags and also having equal amount of all the variants for each group is wishful thinking for many at this point. They could do something different and do that this year, but there is no indication that is going to happen considering they said, first come first serve.

 

We highly recommend that you do not line up more than 30 minutes prior to your group’s designated time, and that you enjoy the festival, the other beers available, and the music until your Group time arrives.


I'm group B, this means I should line up at about 8am to get Vanilla?

 

If they reserve an allotment of Vanilla for every group, and they announce it, then I could see some people with earlier group tix intentionally going to later groups (but at the earliest possible time) trying to game the system. The potential for douchiness in that scenario is almost infinite.

 

Does anyone know how much additional food and beer tickets cost?
Last year some pours where $5 and some where $10.
I wonder if $10 pours will require two tickets? Just curious if anyone has any details?

 

You are likely correct.

I do wonder if there are going to be 10 distinct variants or more like variant offshoots like Vanilla, Vanilla w/ X ingredient added, Vanilla w/ Y ingredient added in addition to a few unique offerings.

 

That's why randomization would be ideal.

 

I'd love a shot at VBDL, but I'm pretty sure that I'll be happy with what I get. I'm excited to see what the 10 variants are - it may have been mentioned before, but do they typically announce the variants a certain amount of time prior to DLD?

No, it means you can line up at noon at the earliest. Why can't people follow the rules? Since there is no cash exchange, this should be a smooth year for DL lines. For the love of god, DO NOT LINE UP EARLIER AND DISRUPT THE OTHER FUCKING LINES. The last thing group A needs is a bunch of selfish group Bs in the way well before their designated time as it could cause confusion and a cluster for every group to follow. Same goes for C before B, D before C, etc...

We had 7 of us I believe in a room at the Hampton last year, no issues at all. All you do is pass out after a full day of drinking, not sure why you'd need your own King size for that.

 

Not really, if you are in group B and go at the end of your allotted time everyone else will have gone through so you can just walk up and grab your beer. At least that's how it was last year.

 

I was joking, I don't plan on lining up early, but you know damn well people will be camping out trying to be first in line

 

I have a feeling with the variants being FCFS we're going to see this all day. Even though people are thinking the line to get your bottles will be quicker this year due to no cash exchange, I have a bad feeling the FCFS aspect is going to cause a cluster fuck of people trying to be at the front of their group. I 100% agree with making the variants random and it would actually be easier on FFF as they wouldn't have to keep track of what variants run out. Unfortunately, I think the lines to get your bottles could be messy this year even though they shouldn't be.
