I just read the tweet /retweet about Daylight day.

Now this is a shot in the dark, but are any three Shifflett siblings related to a Harry Shifflett? A looooooooooong time ago I managed a pool hall in downtown Harrisonburg (where the newer courthouse building is now) and a Harry Shifflett used to come in and play.........along with many other Legendary Locals such as TV Man (Harry Billet), Tuckson, Truck Driver, Mr. Frye, Ralph, JT, Dave Schenk, Butterball etc. (a bunch more) It was called Pro-Pool and was owned by Billy Stephens back in the day (late 1980's).

Shot in the dark, but I have a lot of good memories from that place.

You can't swing a dead cat in the valley without hitting a Shifflett.

A couple updates posted (from Adam) on the fb page yesterday. For those who are not on it......join!

    "2 Quick items.

    1. Looks like Squealers are shipping this Friday so won't quite be ready for the weekend. Personally glad about that so it's not too crazy around here but understand the disappointment as well, sorry folks! frown emoticon

    2. Everyone ok if we cancel Vanilla/Almond Daylight Cravings in favor of Coconut/Vanilla Daylight Cravings? Np? Ok good, we're doing that."

Back to my comments not to be misconstrued with the official post from Bros
    * Those HS Members (Honor Code in play) going to Daylight Day can still bring in a 32oz growler for fill. The HS Only Taps for fill will be Sun Harvester and Coconut/Vanilla/Coffee Great Debate. Both of these will be on the taplist for anyone to get a pour so try before you buy if you like. Remember you only get 1 fill as a HS member so you cannot get both for fill (I am assuming) in the same visit (unless you run off premise, chug growler, come back for new fill.)

    * The Daylight Cravings variant is a bottle that is part of the exclusive HS bottles that will be available for purchase NOT part of the included bottles.

If any of the above is incorrect I'm sure @BrosCraftBrew , @BCBChris or @lillitnn92 will correct me.

Posted to the group page on fb a few mins ago. (From Adam)

Going to try this a little backwards this time around. Posting here first then e-mail, hoping to make sure that all the questions are answered and then email goes out. So...

    1. You guys asked for it. Here is a link to pre-order Horizon Yopeners. https://brotherscraftbrewing.com/product/horizon-yopener/ We need to order a minimum of 25 to get the pricing. They will be bourbon stave with magnet, wax cutter and horizon logo engraving.

    2. Link to the Spiegelau Barrel Aged Glass
    https://brotherscraftbrewing.com/…/spiegelau-barrel-aged-g…/
Pricing is based on minimum order of 48. Will have Horizon and Brothers logo in white on the glass.

    3. Daylight day is tomorrow. Anyone coming down that didn't schedule a pickup CAN pickup but ONLY when we are slow. I.e. even if you wait in a line we aren't going to gather your stuff if there is a busy bar if you don't have a pickup scheduled. We will however help you out once the bar is slow, probably in the evening around 7 or so.

    4. Confirmed Horizon line fills: Sun Harvester and Coconut Great Debate infused with coffee and vanilla beans. Potentially others as well. These will not both be on at the same time but will be available for draft pours to the public as well as Horizon so get them while they're available if you're interested.

    5. Haven't had a chance to try your Chocolate Mint Great Debate bottles? Np, we're going to put a keg on tap at some point in the day so folks can try it on draft.

Planning to send out the email in about an hour so let me know if anything isn't clear or something needs to be added.

    Cheers!

Are there any Daylight Cravings variants for sale to HS members that can't make it for Daylight Day or just the 1 bottle of drunken mornings that's included. In membership?

I understand Coconut/Vanilla Daylight Cravings should be a HS exclusive for purchase (not one of the included beers in our membership) once they get that ready. Bros also posted Drunken Morning bottles will not be sold outside the brewery (no retail) but a limited amount of regular Daylight Cravings should hit distro. We just get to order our 1 included bottle online. No additional unless you show up in person at the brewery

Really enjoyed the Coconut Great Debate and Sun Harvester. What did everyone think about the beers at Daylight Day?

Personally, I hated all the people that ended up coming, making me work on a Saturday. So rude. :grinning:

It was a good day. :sunglasses: But there are some people out there who need to learn how to pace themselves.

What a great day, met some good people... Sorry @lillitnn92 one of my buddies was one of those, he's truly sorry...I think we left around 4 or so, I didn't have anything below 9% for the day...managed to stay upright for the event. Got home and didn't even think of cracking another beer...

2015- soon to be made avaiable for 2016 members

    GILT - GOLDEN SOUR RELEASE
Hey folks, it's been a long time coming and we've finally got it all done the way we want for this Golden Sour, so heres the deal.

2015 members can purchase up to 2 bottles of Gilt, our golden sour which will be the base for other sours beers. It is the base beer used for Sun Harvester and a peach version we have coming soon. 2015 members can purchase 2 bottles through April 1. After April 1, sales will be opened to 2016 members and closed for 2015 members. 2016 Members will have until April 15. At that point we will package out the bottles to order (since it's a base we aren't going to just package a certain amount ahead of time, we'd rather fulfill the order and keep the rest for future projects). We expect to have the beer ready 2-4 weeks after (bottled conditioned).

Thanks again for a great 1st year, regardless of the hurdles. Cheers!
    GILT
    [IMG]
    Gilt is available for purchase!
Brewed with the confident modesty its name suggests, Gilt is a Golden Sour Ale that is approachable but decadent, for those with a finer taste but humble demeanor. Starting off refreshingly tart, Gilt guides you through your tasting experience with zest and brightness, introducing muted sour flavors before hints of citrus bring equilibrium. Think Midas, just a bit more subtle.

Gilt is the base sour we'll be using for our fruited beers moving forward and will continually be tweaked. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

    750mL Bottle. 5.0% ABV
    Limit 2 per person
