There were only 100-200 bottles of cherry last year so I doubt anyone actually drank one.

Edit: Yeah it was limited. I heard some people reporting they thought it was infected, but others saying it was quite good.. seems the bottle count was low enough not to get a consensus, but you can always check Untappd reviews to get an idea.

My experience with Untappd is usually inflated 5-star reviews "OMGGGGG BEST BEER EVARRR" or 1-star "I didn't like this, so it's getting the lowest possible score" reviews.

I can see how it would be confused with infection given the sweetness from a BA DL coupled with cherry flavor. I know several people who dislike cherry flavor (maybe a common thing?) so I wouldn't fully trust some reviews on this variant.

I drank cherry cocoa nib dl. It smelled like a sour, tasted very tart and was very thin. My beer group were all bummed. Definitely tasted like infection to me.

This is what will happen, but insert "FFF SUCKS!" instead...

I stayed there as well last year.... notttt quite the best neighborhood and scenery. Kind of place that made me a bit concerned my car was going to get broken into.

That's why this year I booked at the Hampton near FFF the day after last year's DLD. It's close enough to be within stumbling distance, provided I don't get hit by a train walking back. :grimacing:

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but huna day (which is the model for this year's $200 ticket) does not include a BA variant.

All the complaining/anxiety over the variants is overblown. In my opinion you are getting more value for your $200 in comparison to huna day.

And before it's mentioned, I know that huna day has unlimited tap pours, but who in all honesty is going to the taps 8 times and then participating all the shares?

This has been a good thread in the sense I don't think anyone (well maybe the odd person or so) has complained about the $200 up front ticket price this year. I'd much rather be in Munster in April than FL in March anyway

How many group A'ers are planning on sharing til they get their bottles, going back to their hotel napping and coming back around 4 or 5?

    Seems like a solid plan.

No ticket for any of us this year but it looks like we're all still going, parking at "our normal" spot, and having a bottle share and (hopefully) trading some stuff. We'll be right across the street from FFF, Colorado plates, so stop by for a taste and maybe a trade or two.

Will you be passing through Denver on your way in? I will trade you delicious beers in a $4$ ratio for some renegade E3 elevation/endpoint/whatever theyre calling it now. I park at Centennial too.

I spent last 30 minutes reading this thread to catch up. I will be more than happy to walk away with a variant, no matter what. I will be even be happy if I end up getting left with regular BADL as an only variant available. If you are forced to pick a variant you dislike then just trade it away for a rare bottle or half of someone's cellar you would enjoy more. Enjoy the DLD, you silly drinkers. Have a drink tonight!

There's a guy in our crew that has done that every year, one time it was even by choice. Know your limits people, it will be a much better time for everyone.

The bands aren't my thing and I don't think drinking 16 hours straight is a great plan.

Anyone aware of a compiled list of shuttles to DLD this year? I'm aware of Jaks, Reggies, Beer Temple/Maria's and Open Bottle in Tinley Park, but I'm sure there are many more?? Will be staying near the loop.
