The reason why folks lined up early is because Tampa police who were there had to leave on a call at 945. That is not CCB's fault.

As for the event I had a great time! I knew going in i would only be able to have one or maybe two whales and after that would just have fun.

Had a great time, obviously wish there were less people and more beer, but that's every beer festival. CCB did an awesome job. Especially with the speed of the line to get in. What took 60 min last year took 20 this year. I do agree with the comments about many beers being kicked early. But it's not the whales that are the issue. Just a lot of people all after the same type of stuff. Adding an extra 40 breweries to account for the extra 1000 people isn't apples to apples. Because the extra people are still after the same core beers. Not something that can be solved easily. There was still plenty of no line beer at the end, just stuff that isn't very exciting. All in all, plenty of water and bathrooms and in general great beer. Last years was smaller and the bottle shares alleviated some of the crowd but given the event this year it was great.

Did people go into this thinking there would be an endless supply of some of whales? That FO and other rare beers would be on tap all day?

CCB might want to take a page from 3floyds and dark lord day. Don't communicate what the guest taps are, and randomly put them on throughout the entire day....and don't have the breweries themselves serve the beer. Just generic beer tents with random awesome beers. It's impossible to get your hopes up to try X whale when you have no idea what's going to be tapped and when.

I like that idea of making the tap list and times a mystery. These events are so big they don't need to announce a taplist to get attention and you know that there is going to be great stuff to drink. Only drawback is you have to stay at the event longer lol. For something like MBCP Day it was nice knowing we could get there a little later since the first timed tappings didn't blow us away. That is also an event I drive to so I can't really spend all day drinking there.

It's definitely an event I want to go to next year and plan a tampa trip around. Will be getting a bottle to see if it's worth the price of admission, if not I will be planning a trip without the event.

No fest is perfect but today was a lot of fun. Even if you didn't get all of the whalez, there was plenty of amazing beer to go around!

So what you're saying is police turned away anyone trying to line up prior to 945. Attendees all stood around hiding behind palm trees and at 946 there were 1000 people rushing for spots once they left?

I don't think they should change the set up of the event but some breweries need to bring more of the core beers to last longer. The last hour almost 60% of the breweries seemed liked they were out of beer.

3 SONS is extremely smart. Every time they ran out of a whale they immediately went to an extremely similar almost as good or better whale as to not really upset anyone. They came well prepared. Smart Smart guys.

3 Sons definitely stole the show again. Amazing beers and plenty of them. They had one of the longest lines and it stayed that way the whole time. That place truly lives up to the hype.

CCB does not pay one cent to any breweries that show up with their beer..the breweries are invited by CCB and it's up to them to accept and what to bring

I'll just throw my 2 cents in and say I had a great time. Didn't get everything I wanted, but got so much that I'd never had. I'm happy this morning. Have a great day all. Cheers!

I am one of the guys from MAZURT. This was our 3rd Huna. We love being able to pour our beers which we cannot by law do in Georgia. Pouring our own beers allows us to directly interact with the people we serve and get real-time feedback. Last year, we brought 15 gallons and this year 25. We were ready for you with our best beer.

The CCB Team was great from our perspective. They provided or offered to provide everything we could possible need and even assigned a volunteer to help just us and she was amazing. We would have liked more table space to have a third MAZURT guy pouring coconuts to help expedite the line. We were slammed the whole day and loved every minute of it. Attendees were happy, fun, and a pleasure to serve.
