Picked up a six-pack in So Cal bottled 2/20, a mellow IPA, balanced, and I would consider this a great introductory IPA with a moderate amount of bitterness, flavor, and aroma. There are better IPAs out there, especially Union Jack, which I love. Drinks easy, not bad, not impressive.

I got a single can of this yesterday. Definitely a bit lighter flavored on the hop water side, but crisp, refreshing, and overall not bad.

This is a miss for me, bitter hop water.

Coincidentally, I just noticed this thread and happened to have drank one tonight for the first time. Is it considered a session IPA? If so, I thought it was quite good considering I do not really like session IPAs. This one was light, crisp and refreshing, with a clean citrus like hops flavor. I could see myself drinking a bunch.

I agree. I have yet to find a "Session" IPA that I like but I'm really liking this beer. I'm having another one right now and, as a matter of fact, the last two times that I've grabbed an IPA, I've grabbed this instead of Union Jack.

It's just an excellent IPA IMO. Props to FW!

A local beer bar had this on tap so I did a sample tasting first. The small pour provided a positive result for me so I committed to buying a pint. I thought the beer was good. It had a nice hop profile for my palate but the beer was definitely on the thin side of the body spectrum. I enjoyed drinking the one pint but after I was done I was not particularly interested in ordering another one. Maybe this beer would be more enjoyable for me during a hotter time of the year (i.e., summer)?

This past weekend I purchased a 6-pack of Union Jack. That beer is definitely a 'winner' no matter what season of the year we are in. A great hop profile and a pleasant malt backbone to provide a sense of balance.

    Cheers!

Firestone Beers are often available 2000 miles away from the brewery long before they are found 200 miles. Go figure.

Are the year round beers (e.g., Union Jack, Pivo Pils, etc.) regularly available to you in fresh condition?

    Cheers!

If I go to a legit store that moves stock at a regular pace, yes. Gas stations and grocery stores in my area (if they have any FW besides 805) seem to have 60 - 180 day old stock more often than not, though.

Well, at least you got that going for you. More often than not my local beer retailers have the FW beers in stock but they are typically many months old.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

Still no sign of it here in Chicago. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

You love getting your earth shattered? This is your way of determining if a beer will be purchased again?

Enjoying a 12 oz can now in Boulder so it has hit Colorado. It's a tasty lighter ale. I would describe #001 (what it says on the can) as a dry-ish Pale Ale/small IPA.

This is a very tasty IPA. Also, it's less than $10 a sixer.
Is there a better readily available six pack at this price in CA?

Agreed. my favorite go to IPA. Everything an American IPA should be. I've been brewing a few iterations of an IPA I thought was my own and I realized it's basically a Union Jack clone without Munich malt
