I voted for new beers, but the truth is I go to one that's open, schedule doesn't always allow me to wait till 5 pm Thur-Sat.

Much of what I do depends on my mood and my girlfriend. I do make an effort to visit more often breweries that are working hard to brew good beer and get it out on the shelves.

I look for the best brewery, local or not.

I usually go to the breweries I can get to easily, that have some beers I know I'll like. I've been wanting to visit another close local brewery but they make a lot of beers I haven't tried or gotten into yet (not American styles), so I haven't really committed to going there yet.

The closest stop for me (Al's of Hampden/Pizza Boy) also happens to have the best beer around, so there isn't much of a decision to make. Pretty much the only reason I deviate is if I'm going out for beer and food, in which case I tend to go elsewhere. Al's makes quality pizzas and hoagies, but the healthy options are few and far between.

Appreciate the input, but not sure that place qualifies to this conversation, as they have 100's of guest beers that are non-Pizza Boy beers on tap so its more like a craft bar/pub than a brewery tap room with only their (or maybe a few guest handles). They are the PA version of a Cosco/Sam's Club of drinking beer out on the town.

Do you like Fat Heads beers better than Brew Kettle's in general? It sounds like vibe weighs heavily in your decision of where to stop in for a beer as well.

Well in that case, allow me to clarify that even if only Pizza Boy brews were on tap I would still go there for 95% of my outside-the-home beer consumption.

It is close between both breweries as to which beers I prefer. I enjoy going to Fatheads, it is a more laid back atmosphere.

Actually, thinking about the other options in the area, I'd have to agree with you on that. Good point.
