Had it on tap and tasted exactly how you described it. I was actually looking for ash in my drink.

I had it on tap at Bell's the day it released and out of a bottle not long after.
On tap: very similar to Black Note; Bottle: a lot of burnt, roasted, hard to drink flavors.
I also recall similar roasty/burnt flavors in Jupiter, but after a year that is drinking amazingly.

Bummer for sure, thought I may be the only one.

And there's another, very odd seeing the change between draft and bottle though.

Maybe they brewed a few test batches for the Eccentric Cafe then cellared it for the Bell's Funvitational?
I think the bottles just needed a little time to age before they start to drink amazingly as well.

My local store just got some in even though they didn't have it upon initial release. I picked up a few, I think it'll be even better in a year or so.

I'd wait longer. I think this one, like Expedition, should age indefinitely...and should do it just as well as Expedition.

Anyone know of anywhere that still has this in Michigan? I never stocked up...

I've got enough to to systematically check in on it . Just forget to do that with the rest of the stuff hanging out in the basement.

Yeah I was lucky enough to land a case total, really wish I grabbed more though. Maybe had 3-4 early when I got them and gave a few to my buddies. First one since September. Can't wait to see what a year+ does to them.

Yeah, I have a case right next to a case of Saturn at the bottom of the "cellar" (aka chest freezer left behind when I bought my house) and I think I'm going to have to set reminders in my calendar to remember to drink 1-2 a year before potential oxidation occurs.

I got 5 bottles left man that first one was good, had it a few months ago. Not hot to me at all, even fresh.. Better than ten fidy. Best 11% stout I've ever had. I want another one so bad but at the same time don't wanna use them up!

Glad to hear all of this, sitting on a case here as well. I agree, much better than Ten Fidy, probably the best non-BA stout I've ever consumed.

Had one a couple weeks ago, room temp, and it was superb. And now I have one left. One. I honestly don't know how to feel.

I have two left as well as two Saturns. I can't bring myself to drink any of them yet.
