The OC/LA release thread.

The funny and most interesting part to me is that Hommage has landed in some spots in OC in almost the time that I said it would... which was all I was doing anyway along with passing along a joke...! I didn't look too hard at the photo, but didn't notice either... Anyway as @SDReaper said... Let's all grab a pint, or a pour of Hommage if we can!

 

Just saw tweak bottles at Hi Times.

 

I actually snagged 2 4-packs of Hi-Res at Vendome Bev Hills this weekend!

Just bummed they missed any sort of "playa" reference in the Iron Triangle blurb.

 

Has anybody noticed a price drop on Knee Deep bottles? I bought a bottle of Breaking Bud last week for 4.99.

 

Just got word that Sixpoint is only being distributed to LA county with no apparent plans to go into other counties. Strange. Something about a new distributor handling this account or something. So if anyone in OC is dying to try Sixpoint brews anytime soon, you know where to go.

 

What's worth trying out from Sixpoint?

Its hard to find really fresh KD beers, otherwise I'd buy a few. Most Simtra, which I think is their best beer I see is usually 3-4 months old and thats at better bottle shops.

Allow me to be the lone dissenting voice (probably) and say that I don't think the arrival of Sixpoint in LA County is all that exciting. Trust me, I take every opportunity to remind West Coasters of my East Coast (NJ) upbringing and how great everything from the Northeast is relative to SoCal, but there are many, many local options that are better than Res, Hi-Res, CREAM, and the rest. If you're going to try ONE I'd say 4beans, but at the end of the day I'm not sure any are worth chasing down compared to what you can probably find in your regular go-to store any day of the week.

Just sayin'.

Vendome Fullerton instagram'ed they got them in this week. Orange county, not LA.

Also, 3/10 Booming Rollers is starting to show up in Orange County.

 

Honestly, no clue with that location. I've bought Zombie Dust out of their cooler before. But since they posted the Sixpoint boxes I thought it was legit.

 

They've been known to do interstore shares from time to time.

And this Fullerton one has been known to do the "other" thing (i.e. ZD).

 

I haven't had anything mind blowing so far, but did enjoy all the ones I've had the opportunity to try so far. And I do dig the cans.
