An hour early seems good enough for me, that is basically VIP at every other beer festival on the planet.

That said, I think hoarders only pours are annoying as hell. It was disappointing to go to the Black Tuesday party and not be able to have Reserve. Hoarders received up to six bottles but other people can't even get a 2oz pour?

Obviously I'd prefer 4 tickets to 2, but I'm confident that in the end it will be for a justifiable reason and that whatever changes they've made this year will be for the better. I know in past survey's re: the anniversary event I've ranted a bit about what a terrible idea the 1oz taster is and also the absolutely aggravating practice of timed releases, so hopefully the changed those  (then again maybe that's just me….)

And honestly with the hour early entry I don't even need Hoarders exclusives (again assuming they don't do timed releases) - I'll be happy with an hour of exclusive access to try everything….whatever runs out in that first hour can be considered the "Hoarders Exclusives" and then we can pretend those were the best beers of the day.

I understand it may not be a popular opinion, but I actually like the fact that we get only 2 tickets. When I was in RS it always was weird to me when a HS member invites 3 random people that barely know anything about the beers they are drinking (of course that wasn't always the case, but I personally met a bunch of people who confirmed that theory). Now at least more tickets will go to the people who are actual members at the Bruery...and as Xul mentioned before, if that means better experience for us, I'm definitely happy about that change. We'll see.

I'm sure you guys will be right and The Bruery will come through with something awesome. It's just the initial shock that got to me. I had a couple buddies in SD that were looking forward to it this year.

Not happy with the 2 tickets at all, they should have notified us prior as members book plane tickets and rooms in advance.
Based on every year when you are used to receive 4 tickets you make plans based on that.
I also feel that being a member has gone downhill over the last few years, I think this is my 5th year as a member and after this I will consider not renew. I know you guys will say they have another person who will buy my membership, but the way I look at it as I have been a long time supporter and for that I keep getting less and less.

I'm not going to make it this year to the anniversary due to other plans but I'm happy to see they listened to what members said about last year. I received a response last year from my feedback where it sounded like they were disappointed as well that some breweries didn't bring rare, specialty or experimental beers as they suggested when they invited the breweries to attend. Since the breweries donate all their beer they can't say anything if they just bring their core beers. They hoped this year that they can get more breweries to attend that are known to serve really exciting beers at festivals.

Two of the three breweries I suggested as new invitees in my feedback even made the list this year.

Last year was good but to me there were a handful of breweries that just brought their core beers and a lot that just didn't bring enough. One brewery just brought two slim kegs it seemed like and were tapped very quick. So I'm glad they looked hard at who they invited but also glad to see the number of people invited decreased. I think this years is really going to be much better than last year's which was still a blast. Kind of bummed I'm going to miss it now.

Honestly, put yourself in the shoes of hoarders members. You think we are going to fork over $700 bucks a year plus cost of beer and not want exclusives? I can guarantee you want want exclusives over PS members and I bet they want some over non members. It's just how this works.

Your exclusive was getting six bottles of BT Reserve. There is no reason to block RS people from ever trying the beer.

I kind of feel this way, too.

If a HS/RS beer goes on tap for the public, that isn't a problem to me. I got the bottles of it. Hell, even if the bottles go on sale to the public I really don't care. I have mine already, now more people get to enjoy them. I don't understand the whole exclusive thing when it comes to getting beer. We also get discounted purchases and a ton of membership parties and perks.

Indeed, the salt is strong with this one.

I'm sure it's a numbers game. The HS stuff is usually super small batches and if they gave it to everyone, then the HS members wouldn't be able to get it. Heck, there are times when even we are limited to one taster of something at the tasting room. If we let you get pours of room for me for example, then there are actual paying members, who have every right to get it before you, will miss out.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Reserve available to everyone at the anniversary party last year? If so, that means everyone did get to try it, including guests of members.

Are you actually expecting the bruery to put on events and not have additional stuff for an additional level of their membership? I get that it sucks but that makes 100% logical sense to me. That's what makes people want to shell out the extra $$$.

And lets not forget that we get 21 bottles of beer included as well. That covers a pretty big chunk of the $700 dollars we pay. Its not as if we are forking that all out just for the right to exclusive offerings.

I'm also not really understanding the 2 ticket limit for hoarders. I'm skeptical that any brewery would eliminate the potential for an extra $120 per hoarder, solely for a reduced crowd and "better experience". My thoughts are that they'll simply offer those tickets to other outlets, like PS or the public.
