You're on vacation with your In-laws in Napa and you're sitting at the hotel happy hour with free bud and bud-lite on tap. You walk into the bar and get a Cali beer(s) that you can't get in Texas and they just stare at you. My response "Well the cheese and crackers were free, it equals out".

 

Or you say, "let me be an insufferable bastard for a moment", or at least that's what I recall saying, to which they groan, again.

For me, play hookie from work to drive 1,000km in one day to buy and pickup 2 cases of rare beer...on several occasions...

 

You refuse to go to a party if they only have macrobrewed garbage there

You freak out if someone else washes your glassware, because they may not be doing it "properly"

When you see someone drinking good beer straight from the bottle, you lecture them about it and try to persuade them to pour it into a glass

 

...you can drainpour with wild abandon anything that does not meet your standards. (Present company included.)

 

You're not a beer geek unless... you haven't done or thought about a full brewery road trip.

 

...the smell of various household cleaning products makes you think "that'd make an awesome IPA".
