I'm going to disagree and say that Lunch is awesome.

And I'm going to agree with you. Lunch is just ok. Another One on the other hand is amazing. Most of the Ocelot IPA's are better than Lunch IMO.

Lunch is really good, but fresh is key. And I'm another one that much prefers Another One.

Count me in the camp that was unimpressed with Lunch. I also had it less than an hour after a fresh keg was tapped, so it was pretty fresh.

The keg itself could have been 6 months old though.

I enjoyed the bottle of Lunch I tried, but it wasn't particularly noteworthy. Champion Fruit Basket is a local that blew away most IPAs I've tried.

It's Friday!!!! And I just cracked my last bottle of 1994 Sam Adams Triple Bock. Couldn't believe how fresh it was.

Count me in the camp that prefers Another One but also enjoys Lunch. Very, very different IPAs.

The key w a s supposedly a little under two months old if those who were providing that information were being honest. I have no reason to believe they weren't, but you never know.

Picked up some of the cigar city at Randy's direction at Calvert Woodley today. Really enjoying the Kracker.

Also picked up the Anchorage Mosaic that I plan on enjoying this weekend.

I had lunch that was a week old and thought it was marginal at best. I agree with the statement that some local IPAs and for that matter, distro IPAs are on par and better.

Don't get me wrong, it's a well balanced IPA, but the nose and flavor is just not that exciting.

I was underimpressed with Lunch. Now Champion Fruit Basket...a few guys and me did a side by side with Hopslam, and everyone preferred Hopslam. A week later we did a side by side with Nugget Nectar amongst myself and 2 other people and all 3 preferred NN over it. It's a good beer, don't get me wrong, but I think its a little overrated from the hype, just on my experiences.

to each their own. I'd take the can of Fruit basket over either of the bottles of the other two I've had. Different cans/bottles, batches, year, etc, might change that.

Last week I had a Hop Juju followed by Fruitbasket. Fruitbasket was a sloppy mess in comparison. Hop Juju is just fantastic, though. And also better than Lunch.

So did we just get skipped over on Stone Pataskala Red IPA and Americano Stout? Both have come and gone in other VA markets. Can't say this is what I expected with Stone opening up a second brewery 90 miles away.

I really don't understand where manor hill gets off charging so much for beers that aren't really that great. There's no way they are selling everything they have. Is there something I'm missing about MD distribution that justifies this pricing?

Edit: I don't know how to edit in the quote I originally wanted for my reply.

What part of VA are you in? The MD wholesaler refused to bring it in. Maybe we share the same distributor for Stone? Distributor websites suck. I think Stone is brought in by Chesapeake here.

At least we got the Americano Stout though. Sorry man.
