Despite warmer weather coming, I need something roasty for the pipeline so I'm mashing in on 15 gallons of stout. Fairly standard recipe but doing a small yeast experiment with WLP 002, 004 & 013, the last of which I've never used before.

Brewed a Barleywine yesterday. All Marris Otter bittered to 100 IBU with Bravo fermented with WY1968. Boiled down some first runnings. I meant to boil down just over a gallon but pulled closer to 2 gallons.

    Boil down at 20 min.

Boil down at 1 hr. At 1.5 hr it was very lava like and smelled like chocolate so I continued on with the brew.

    To the fermenter.

Had to relocate the secondary regulators in my keezer a bit... Couldn't fit my fermentation bucket in there to cold crash because of obstructions in the way. All is good now though with my DIPA starting the cold crash for kegging tomorrow night.

Kicking the hazy apa brew day off today. Mashed in, hit 154. Gonna start sparging soon, decanted starters standing by to do their duties. @JackHorzempa I spoke with my brewery buddy and he is going to help with tasting notes.

Meant to add that I am using hank sr and some grungy rockabilly and bluegrass bands to infuse the spirit of Americana into these american pale ales.

Made some changes but it pretty much reads like this...
    20lbs colorado malting pale ale
    3.0lbs american munich
    1.0lb white wheat
    1oz columbus @60
.5 oz citra and centennial @15
    2.5oz centennial @0
    1.5oz citra @0
    1oz amarillo @0
11 gallon batch to be split between 2 different yeasties.
I havent squared away dryhops yet. And for those paying attention I moved some things around in the grist and hop schedule. Once I get everything squared away and beer in bottles I will update the NEIPA thread with process and numbers.

My citra centennial simcoe session IPA I brewed yesterday had a hank3 infusion. I do love Hank Sr. though. Also looking forward to harvesting London ale and dry English ale yeast from it for future beers. My yeast collection is getting low

Thanks! When I saw the color of the first runnings I questioned whether I scooped from the wrong bin at the lhbs since it was so light. When I saw that going into the fermenter I was pretty happy.

Transferred my Belgian blonde to the keg after 2 weeks of sitting in strawberries and cacao nibs. I was quite disappointed with the lack of strawberry that I got into the beer. I also got my electrical panel 100% ready for operation. However, as I was doing a water test in the HLT, the herms coil came undone down on the bottom on the compression fitting. After about 30 minutes of putting it back together, the bastard leaks now!!!! I'm soooooo fed up with all the problems I'm having on the new system.

Just starting my home brew adventure. This being my second attempt at brewing. Going with a two one gallon batches, both from Brooklyn Brew Shop. Oatmeal stout and the single hop galaxy IPA. Looking to refine my craft with these simple batches before cutting down all grain recipes.

IPA will go into 12 oz bottles. Oatmeal stout into 16 oz bottles with thoughts of adding different amounts of cold brew coffee to bottles, possibly moka. Looking forward to brewing more already!

Pulled a sample of Raisinator b3 - this batch got some dried tart cherries to mix things up. Tasting really great and quite face-ripping sour already.

    Equinox on the Equinox.

Brewing an American Amber Ale, thought it would be fitting to use Equinox as finishing hops on Mar 21th. Depending on the success, will probably do this again in six months . . .

Brewed a Wit on Friday which took a little while to start bubbling. It bubbled steady for about 48 hours and now the bubbles have stopped but the beer is still swirling around in the fermentor.

Citra by the pound is back in stock at the online store where I usually order my ingredients. I've got a couple of empty kegs, maybe it's time to start brewing again?

I've been busy kegging and bottling everything I have going as the wife and I just bought. New house and are moving April 1st, so brewing is on hold until the new house is moved in to and my equipment is set up.

I have a TON of ingredients and brews planned out, I haven't taken a break from brewing for a LONG time and it is killing me. I just want to brew!!!

Realized how much brew gear and equipment I have now that I have to pack it up to move it. DAng-o man!

The wife didn't know how many different barrels I'd aquired and gave me the look when She saw them all. I'm lucky she enjoys the hobby along with me or I might have been placed in the dog house...
