What do you do for a living, BAs?

Beer buyer for a retail establishment, sell some wine, little coffee, and a whole lot of sunshine. How do I write that off on my taxes?

 

Freelance photographer

 

I work at a local factory that makes carpeting for the automobile industry. I drive a forklift and, when someone doesn't come in to work, I fill in wherever I'm needed. Nothing glamorous but it pays the bills and buys the beer. I'm also a 21+ year veteran of the US Army and the Army Reserve, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

Student. I'll be starting a Master's program in Brewing and Distilling in the fall with the hopes of one day operating a craft distillery. Love me some beer tho!

IT Server Administrator in education but can't wait to retire and start my second career as a Chemical Engineer.

I'm going to specialize in turning alcohol into urine.

 

Grower*/Hortgeek**/Designer***/Unemployed wildife biologist/Landscraper/ . My joints can't take the pounding of pick & shovel work like they used to, so the latter is only in a pinch.
* Not that .(yet - C'mon Cuomo & crew. Get on it) ; )

*** Had that job full-time+ elsewhere, but filled when I got to the current place. I handle walk-in DIYers, & the mow & blow guys who take on jobs, without knowing the plants. Or design.

 

Tough job, but somebody has to do it.

 

Medical Device Sales. Sold lasers for a number of years for Glaucoma and Retina and now trying to change industries, Health Care Reform killed physician reimbursement and it all flows down hill.

 

I am currently a stay-at-home dad. Not the hardest thing I have ever done for a living, but definitely the most work! Before this? Worked as a Special Education teacher at a middle school. Loved it!

Retired. Currently am a dog walker for my neighbor.

 

Prosthetist Orthotist...I make artificial limbs and custom orthopedic braces for those in need.

Retired const. superintendent......came up the hard way......went to a vo-tech high school and graduated a third year carpenters apprentice....twenty years driving nails and fifteen years setting in a trailer running a child care center for forty year old's.....

 

Nothing. Worked my ass off for 40 years only to have my job eliminated due to technology. No severance, no nothing. Living off savings. But I won't drink shitty beer. I'll live in a damn homeless shelter before I buy a 30 of Natty Lite, or whatever it comes in.
