What do you do for a living, BAs?

I drink beer for a living. Yep. Best Job on Earth

 

I'm a professional musician and a DJ in a strip club...God is good !

 

So correct and that drives me absolutely crazy. I've had this same conversation with another really good BA'r @fmccormi whom I have alot of respect for.

 

Temporarily laid off, so my current profession is drinking beer XD... In all seriousness normally I drive a forklift/pallet jack on the graveyard shift in a refrigerated warehouse. -10F all night long...

 

Health Promotion student at Iowa. Graduating in a year (:

 

Finance Manager at a car dealership

 

IT Analyst at a children's hospital.

 

Systems/software engineering with a first tier aerospace supplier. Mainly work on flight controls, with a little bit of avionics from time to time.

 

I build and configure EHR software for hospitals

 

Mechanical Engineer by trade/degree. I work as a construction manager for Bio-pharmaceutical Manufacturing Plants located all over the world.

 

Inbound Manager at a warehouse for a clothing company but transitioning into a Facilities Manager for the whole company at the end of the month.

 

Retired

 

Seafood inspector for the State of Florida; specifically shellfish (oysters, clams, mussels, scallops, other bivalves). At least until I finish my Masters in Public Health...

 

It’s kind of hard to give a title to my job but I would say I am an institutional custodial trust accountant. As to what I actually do, I audit trust portfolios on a monthly basis. Sounds pretty damn fun, right?

 

I work in a municipal sewer department during the day and I'm a chef at a private club at night. Don't worry, I wash my hands in between shifts.

 

Pretty sure that in earlier post I advised that I'm retired; update (as many know) is that wife and I are traveling and experiencing local food, beer and wine along the way. Cheers!

 

Indeed, we have spoken about this . . . I'm very lucky that my particular corner of the humanities (anthropology --> archaeology) happens to have more job opportunities outside of the ivory tower than most others. But man oh man, the reality of young academic professionals has shifted dramatically in the last couple of decades, and even just in the last ten years. I feel for anyone else in that situation.

Sidebar, any other archaeologists out there? And @jzeilinger, how you been man? Long time.

I'm currently a system admin at a small health care company. I'm hoping to move into some sort database administration role shortly, whether it's at this company or another one remains to be seen.
I'm also a full time student (IST, majoring in software development and integration).
