Gonna be in NJ for the Easter weekend and I was wondering if anyone had any recommended bottle stores in the Monmouth County area. I usually just go to Kane or Carton to get stuff directly from them when I'm in the area but I was curious if there were any good bottle stores to get stuff that doesn't get distributed to MD like Avery, Westbrook, etc.

Monmouth is a pretty big area, mind being a bit more specific? East or west of Parkway? Exit #'s usually work best for us Jersey folks .

Realistically anywhere east of the parkway between Red Bank and Brick, roughly exits 109 to 88.

That's a bit south of me so I don't know it as well, but Spirits Unlimited on 520 in red Bank is decent (as is the one a bit further north in Middletown (Scary Clown). Court Liquors in Long Branch is good. Gerards's in Point Pleasant. I'm sure people can chime in with more.

Thanks, man. I saw Gerard's on beermenus, but a lot of the bottle shops by me in Baltimore don't usually post their bottle lists, just growlers, so I wasn't sure if I was missing out on any places. Looks like there's a sprits in Point Pleasant as well so I guess I will check out those places.

The spirits in pt pleasant beach is better than any other in the area. and it is about 5 minutes from gerards. i havent lived there in about 6 months, but we did not get westbrook or avery as far as I know. PPB spirits also has a good growler station.

Westbrook has been in NJ less than 6 months .Not sure why you wouldn't get Avery though, Spirits by me has plenty.

Shrewsbury Wine and Liquors for growlers - tons and the proprietor is a nice and knowledgeable guy.

Spirits Unlimited Red Bank is a solid bottle shop. Honestly I'd say if youre in the CNJ shore area you are better served hitting up the breweries themselves. You can usually max out at 3 ish cases of cans at Carton, Kane has Vengeful Heart bottles and tons of growler options right now and Little Dog in Neptune has 4 different bottles (Seafarer's Stout is insanely good) and 4 tap/growler options as well.

EDIT We just got Westbrook in NJ and none of the good stuff yet tbh (not even Gose)

maybe I just never looked at it because of the high prices.

Yeah, I'm not sure the Gose is in season yet according to Westbrook's calendar. I saw on beermenus that a couple places in Northern NJ have the Siberian Black Magic Panther.

Bottle King in Middletown, right on 35 usually has a pretty good selection.

I live in Red Bank and I'll echo some of the previous statements about the other stores like Spirits, and Shrewsbury Wine & Liquor and Court Liquors as well.

Every once in a while I'll check the Wegman's on 35 as well. Their selection of bombers is a little more limited though.

Spirits in Pt Beach and Gerards both have Avery.

No Westbrook this far south yet though.

The one on Bridge Ave is closed but the one on Richmond Ave is alive and well. There and Gerards are decent. Max's in Neptune isn't bad either. Court liquors in long branch always has a good selection. Kane for grolwer fills is always a good choice.
