Drinking Hipster right now, 0 tartness and smoke is subsiding still strong Maple. Tasting better than it was at the release.

I had a Hipster and BBIMM last month, and they both showed perfectly. I loved the Hipster and look forward to my 2 remaining. The BBIMM had too much chilies in it for my taste, but no signs of the bottle being off.

Well I don't trust my ears very much when it comes to the taste of beer, but my nose and tongue vouch for the flavors in both Hipster and BBIMM.

Any more details on what you're hearing, or just random rumors?

Can also confirm appropriate taste for Hipster.

Just a couple of buddies in a FB group. Given the BBIMM tartness talk, I had some concern. Glad to see others are NOT experiencing it.

Gave a BBIMM at our March Madness party to a buddy who'd never had it before. His first impression (no preconceived notions or bias) was that he wasn't expecting to get a "vinegar bite". Definite tartness to it.

Taste - had a BBIMM two Saturdays ago - Basement temp (58/60) - small amount of tartness, I won't say the "I" word, first assumption is something developed a little unexpectedly - was still drinkable and enjoyable, but I wouldn't sit on them.

Just starting to hear about Hipster's going bad, but know quite a few people who have had same experience with BBIMM.

Could be random chatter on both of them, but the BBIMM I had definitely had some kind of tart tinge to it, noticeable but not overly distracting - yet.

Just finished a BBIMM. Cinnamon, lots of habanero, and nutmeg. No barrel and no tartness in this one either. One bottle left. Same thing happened last year with '14 BBPt5, where someone had a bad bottle and everyone ran for the cellar to check. Palate still tingling from those peppers.

Just had a 2015 BBAIMM with what I would say was a undesirable tart fruitiness as it warmed. I think I'm done with Odd Side Ales.

Just cracked a bottle of the latest Hipster. Yup, straight sour cream. Lots of carb and head. No aromas. Had some friends open bottles tonight and they range from slight tartness to full-on sour. Many friends have been emailing them about infected BBAIMM and have been getting blown off with canned denial emails. Fuck 'em if they don't want to own up to it.

Had a 15' Hipster last week. Tasted great. Kept in a fridge set at 49 degrees since Black Friday.

Maybe this is my chance to laugh at the folks who consider a MI basement a proper cellar. Maybe not, but glad I only have a handful of bottles left.

Yep had a hipster tonight too. Tart, smells bad. Slight maple on the back end. What have you @joshflashgordon ? This is definitely similar to morning wood? Refunds credit? Morning wood BA Mayan now hipster, next hazels? ThaTs a ton of money spent for beer that's only good for a few months. All my beer is kept In a dark crawl space that never goes above 60 degrees.

I'm a believer in Patrick's Dawson's (author of Vintage Beer) statement that beer needs to be cellared at or below fermentation temperatures with a preference to 10 degrees below actual fermentation temps.

Since fermentation is a product of the yeast strains used, yeast that ferments near higher temperatures is going to cause reactions in your beer at certain temps. Since OS doesn't pasteurize or filter their beers, the yeast is free to change over time, right?

Therefore it seems to me that the higher the temperature of your cellar, the more likely a yeast (wanted or unwanted) strain might activate.

I'll say it again...MI basement, no thank you! I'll gladly take a temperature controlled fridge, set at a temperature 10-15 degrees lower than ale fermentation temps over that!

So the bcbs bottles from 2009-2014 in mY basement aren't subject to that? Or the oddside release of 14? Or bells BA beers or any other beers I've had for the past 6 years? Just beers that are < a year old? NM, I guess I don't get it.

Wow, you sound like the canned emails OSA is sending out.
