No Old Perseverance, yet. Plenty of Tweak Batch 2, and plenty of Uncle Jacob's, Batch 5, DD, and Fiel Al Estilo.

    Cheers!

This must be the barrel aged Mayan Goddess I've heard rumors about...if so then count me in! Can't wait to try it.

Having a Uncle Jacob's Stout/Batch 5, very nice brew, maybe a little bit sweeter than the Batch 3 with almost 2 years on it.

    Cheers!

I love the more reasonable ABV on this one. Definitely looking forward to it!

Same here. I could definitely seeing myself grabbing at least 779 cases of this one (a decision I'm sure I'd later regret).

But still, having la bit ower ABV offering from Avery that I don't have to think twice about (or three times, if it's the middle of the week) will be much appreciated.

You can't compare their GOLDEN foil, limited batches, super high ABV beers that were aged longer, to GREEN foil, year-round, lower ABV, and aged for a short period of time.

I think most of the above comments are referencing the upcoming gold foil beer, Xolotl, which at 11.4%, is lower ABV than many other beers in the series.

In fact, many of the recent gold cap releases, Old P aside, have been under double digits ABV, see below.

I did mention the upcoming Conconut Porter (green foil) aged in rum barrels, which sounds delicious, but by no means was I comparing it to gold cap beers...

    Picked up some:

    Expletus No. 35
    Lunctis Viribus No. 33

Still plenty of UJ Batch 5, Tweak Batch 2, Double D, and Fiel Al Estilo. No Old Perseverance, yet.

    Cheers!

Every time I see an update to this thread, I'm hoping it's someone announcing the Callipygian release info...

Fairly certain I saw Old Preserverance on a shelf in FoCo yesterday...

Not sure this is applicable to this thread since it's not a bottle release, but I was fortunate enough to try LaStarya at Avery last night (having missed Strong Ale fest), and that beer was really phenomenal. The chocolate and vanilla made it remarkably smooth. To be honest, I may prefer it to fresh Tweak, because it was just so drinkable (although it still falls behind Uncle Jacob's on my list of big Avery beers). Either way, I'd love to see this around more.

Opened a bottle of the Feb 2015 batch of Uncle Jacobs tonight and it was infected. Sour and kind of metallic. :slight_frown:

@rekrappy have you had any other reports of issues with that batch? I have a handful of bottles left from that same batch

LaStarya and Callipygian are the same beer. Oh those Avery boys and their naming schemes.
