What are you actually talking about?

Lets just say one thing, and it is that you are so incredibly wrong about BBIMM. I have had this beer multiple times since the release, the day of, weeks after, and then one the other night, which has clearly developed undesirable flavors, a souring if you will. How can I like the beer fresh, a month later, and then suddenly realize it tastes horrible???

The denial reminds me of when first reports of infected BCBCS came out. People were being told that they just had unsophisticated palates and were too stupid to realize that the coffee used should impart fruity flavors in the beer. 1 month later GI was offering refunds for beer that was "supposed to taste like that".

I'll only confirm the BBIMM at this point and the first time I had an issue with it was this week.

I'll try a Hipster and/or a Mokka tonight. For science. I will say the BBAIMM I drank a week and a half ago tasted fine.

Via untapped seems to be mix emotions regarding BAIMM. Mine I had last Friday was solid. May have one tonight.

I think you would be more likely to find people on Untappd that are trying it for the first time and have no way to gauge how it "has developed".

Honestly, I think part of that skepticism comes from the fact that anytime some rumor of infection comes out, there is definitely a segment (no idea how large or how small) of the population that seems susceptible to that suggestion, and the reports of infection suddenly take on a wildfire like characteristic.

I have no doubt that there may be some bottles out there with issues, but I have a hard time believing that we went from no issue or even rumors of an issue to suddenly "OMG Odd Side released infected beer!!!!" and widespread reports of infection. In all likelihood, the truth is somewhere in between--there are some bottles that have issue, but that it's unlikely to be widespread. Of course, that may change with time since the chemistry of the beer will potentially keep evolving with time.

I'm lucky in that I only have a few of each left--like 4-5 bottles of BBIMM, 2 of Hipster and 1 Mokka. In the interest of actually enjoying my beer, I'm probably going to start working on drinking that collection down just in case.

Do the bottles have any type of batch code on them? I consumed my Hipster and BBAIMM a few weeks after Black Friday and I don't have any other Oddside beer sitting in the fridge right now to check.

They should have a date stamped on the upper right corner of the label.

Having one right now, definitely a little bit if tartness in the finish, particularly as it warms, and some sweaty vinegary gym sock smell. It's still drinkable but not the coffee maple bomb it was fresh.

Drinking a Hipster right now myself. The smell is definitely off by a noticeable margin. The taste, not as much, but still off by a good amount. I get an ever so slight tart/metallic finish. It doesn't make the beer unenjoyable, but it's a shell of what it was when I first got my bottles on Black Friday. It was a smokey, mapley bomb with a hint of the barrel character. Now the smokiness has faded considerably and I'm left with a sweet and slightly tart finish. Pretty disappointing. Just hoping my bottles of Mokka Munt don't fall to this fate. I love that beer so much. That might break my beer loving heart.

As @MadLatvian said he traded some (to me unfortunately) at the kbs release. I have no idea of what these taste like fresh. Had a hipster last night and a bbaimm tonight. Although I enjoyed them both I suspect these are not what they are supposed to be like; just an assumption obviously.
Didn't get much smoke from the hipster, definitely maple though. Mine actually smelled pretty sweet, good (this was after a couple beers already I'll admit)
The bbaimm was all heat and cinnamon. Slight off taste on both but damn do i wish I knew what these were like fresh. Will crack a mokka munt tomorrow. All into the fridge...

Aside from your mention of the "slight off taste", what you've described is how I remember both being fresh. Hipster wasn't very smoky initially, but was sweet from the maple, and the BBIMM had lots of heat and cinnamon.

Drinking a Mokka Munt right now. Mint is still popping through nicely. No signs of infection on my end. Thank god. Hope to drink a BBAIMM and possibly a Hazel's this weekend. Fingers crossed.
