Who doesn't shave these days? You get more play that way. How old are you?

 

I'm not fussing over cloudy beers, I tend to like them and I brew them myself. I'm just saying that they don't all look great.

 

And I'm not really fussing over your beer nuts either. I was just being silly.

By golly, I guess you're right. I would just never think of lumping a NYC brewer in with the Alchemist and Lawson's. Heck NYC is closer to Richmond, VA than it is to Stowe, VT.

If you've ever seen Half Baked, you know the squirrel in my avatar is Fuzzy Nuts, and that should tell you all you need to know about my balls.

 

I have seen Half Baked, but I was....in a forgetful state.

 

Is Aslin somewhere you can hang out for a while or is it more fill your growler and leave?

 

There's a bar and tables for hanging out and drinking, and there's live music I think on the weekends. But it's bare bones if you're used to a standard brew pub. I tend to go there for growlers/crowlers, but I've run into fellow beer geeks there and enjoyed a glass or two and the conversation. Plus the Aslin guys are super friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

 

I agree with @Beers-es - it's definetely bare bones. However, when the weather's nice the place is great. They roll up the overhead door so it feels like a beer garden. Also, sometimes you have to stay there for a beer; when they are down to their last keg of a beer they stop growler/crowler fills. But, as @Beers-es also said there are lots of beer geeks there so there's interesting beer stories to hear. I'm working out a beer trade currently with one guy I met there.

 

Pen Druid is a great place to stop after a hike in SNP, they don't care about sweaty hikers or anything like that. They have an nice deck and there is a yard you can picnic in too.

 

Speaking of movies, nutsacks, and cloudy beer... for anybody who dislikes the cloudy aspect of these beers, at least it's not this type of cloudy:

 

That's my exact plan for Easter Sunday.

 

Any clues about Aslin's new Astro Zombie IPA? Hops, etc?
