You know what they say about rumors

 

If I didn't know about most of these breweries already, I'd be excited, I guess.

Looks like that's who they are catering to.

 

Met Sam from DFH last night, and he said his salon will have a never before released ancient ale. Pretty pumped for that. Just bought tickets for it.

 

This is the first time I can remember tickets still being for sale the next day. I wish they would do away with the lottery system for breweries.

 

Given the beer/brewery lineup for this year I am not surprised.

 

It'll be interesting to see what events are in the area that week, hope some of the big guns from last year, Fremont, CCB, Hardywood, Yazoo, Funky Buddha come to town and have some events... Cough @jacewg cough

I wonder if meridian pint has events planned each nite that week?

 

Tickets are still available for both nights -- not surprising given the brewery list, but amazing considering that in the past they'd sell out within an hour.

Spent some time going over the list and checking out breweries I hadn't heard of. Lots of intersting sounding beers that is getting me a bit more excited than I was after seeing so many local pilsners. Country Boy, D9, Crux. Bell's is bringing some great stuff. I enjoy the event for more than just the beer too. The Collab beer sounds pretty interesting as well.

 

Tickets still available for Friday, which is kind of absurd. Not sure if this will get anyone's attention that maybe they need to up their game a bit.

 

That's insane that tickets are still available, especially after how fast they sold out last year. I guess that goes to show how shitty the taplist is this year.

How have the Savor week events been so far? Highlights?

 

Sparsely attended, at least at CK and Jack Rose. As for the beers, Madagascar II was a bit disappointing, Todd/Axe was good, BA Darkness was about what I recall from last year (not great).

Meridian Pint was much better attended, but still not packed on both floors (upstairs was a bit crowded). Aslin's IPAs were awesome, as always, and actually made The Answer's stuff look meek in comparison (imo). I'm decidedly not on the Mexican Hot Chocolate hype train - it's a good beer, but more like a 4.2 than the current rating of 4.6 (!).

I'm not complaining about small crowds - and I was on the early side for CK/JR - but I am a bit surprised. There were literally multiple open seats at the bar at CK when I got there at 420ish.

 

what are its weaknesses? from my understanding, it is just deceiver with chocolate malt and chili peppers. no cocoa nibs, no vanilla, nor cinnamon or anything else. haven't tried it yet, but a buddy picked up a crowler for me and it is sitting at his place right now.

 

Thought it was very thin compared to similar beers in that class (ie, high-ABV spiced stout with a very high ranking).
