Seems I didn't realize there is the Brew_Betty way and then the wrong way...
That I would agree with…I'm baking low, 250F for an 40 minutes. Not looking to carbonize, just dry out and flush with caustic. Maybe even give isopropyl a try this year.

That would probably work fine if you are not brewing a massively hopped beer with pellets...hard to sanitize properly if the small channels in a plate chiller are clogged.

My Duda arrived today, is it worth pressure testing? Or should I just assume it's good for the first batch?
(can is there just for size ref)

Naw, these guys never leak. You might want to give it a test run to check your fitting/connectors and see how you'll measure outflow temp. Everyone eventually figures this out, but give some thought as to how you'll drain/reclaim the wort. This looks like an eighteen inch 30(?) plate'er . . . that's 30'ish ounces of precious wort you want to keep.

would definitely pressure test once your connects are on there…would be more worried about those than the duda though.

    beat me to it…

Naugled, I hung my vertically on my system for the exact reason portlargo listed, so the output of wort is at the bottom and drains down via gravity to the bottom of the chiller and I collect a decent amount of wort between the hose/pump/chiller.

That boss chiller looks too big to fit in the oven. Lucky you!

Close, it's the 40 plate. Thanks for the tips. So if I extrapolate the 40 plate will have roughly 40is ounces of wort?

Tele, thanks for your tip, I will mount as suggested.

I would give it a dry run, at least to clean and sanitize it. You can test it for leaks at the same time.
