    Had my first abyss last night. I really enjoyed it, but thought it could use more barrel character. Might need to try to find the cognac version.

    Barrel-aged beer of the day. Little fleshy with a fresh burn, but good nonetheless. Glad I could try it!

    BDCS- like a super smooth whiskey soaked chocolate bar. A little thin but the taste more than makes up for it.

    Another great BA friday bottle share at the office, love fridays! Had some dragon milk reserve vanilla chai and toasted chilles, central water BA barleywine, Avery Uncle Jacob Stout ( wow that is good and strong ), and Pirate Bomb! Wow that bomb is great. Can't decide between BA Bomb and pirate Bomb which is better. And for good measure a Non BA Dark Lord was in there for tasting. Fun beer tasting!

    It had a slight tartness. Wife even asked if it was a sour.
    Has Bruery sent anything about QA issues enough for me to take a pic of the bottle stamp?

    I haven't seen anything directly from the Bruery, but a lot of people have been complaining about certain batches. You might contact the Bruery and see if they have any info. Sounds like you might have a bad bottle.

    Odd Side Ales Hipster Brunch and Pipeworks The Murderous. Hipster was delicious. Murderous was OK - I seem to have lost my desire to have more barleywines.
