Highland Park Binny's didn't have any Coconut Jones Dog today. Guy working the beer isle said it should arrive with the next Pipeworks shipment.

I picked a Coconut Jones Dog up today....since I missed BA Jones Dog, I'm kind of excited about this one.

@NOTpipeworks what are the chances coconut JD went into rum barrels. I really think this is my new favorite PW brew. It is so damn good.

Loved the coco jones. My favorite non BA pipeworks stout to date. Better than any of the abductions. Let it warm a bit the coconut really shines.

Any new releases this Monday the 28th?

Question: So there still is no tasting room at the brewery. Where in the area of Pipeworks Brewery/Revolution/Logan's Square can I find bottles of Pipeworks to bring back home with me? I only have Monday afternoon to revisit the area, and one of my stops will be at Revolution for some grub and beer. Would also like to visit one more place and a bottle shop to pick up some cans/bottles to go. Been to Logans Arcade on my last visit. Any recommendations is appreciated. Thank you. The rest of my stay will be in the Elks Grove area for training.

Vas Foremost is right across the street from the Revolution brewpub, if that's where you're going - assuming you are since you mentioned eating there. If you're at the taproom, not sure what is exactly the closest, but maybe Beer Temple?

I saw the VAS Foremost on beermenus. Plus I saw there is a Binneys in the area as well. Am I better off just going to VAS? Looking for some local bottle/cans to bring back. Was there a year ago and brought back stuff like Half Acre, Pipeworks, Maine and Revolution. I heard Buckledown is good? I don't really have to eat at Revolution. I'm open to anything in that area. Last year when we where there it was very busy. Would like to find ZD on draft in the area. One place on Beermenus has it listed but I'm sure it'll be tapped out by Monday. Like to stick with the local brews. New from a year ago is cool. Thanks.

The Binny's Lincoln Park (on Marcey Street) will have a huge selection if you want to go there. If you've never been, I would suggest going there. You'll find new stuff from PW and Revolution, as well as other stuff like Mikerphone. Short's and Oddside from MI are now distributed here as well, so you can try some of them. I have varying opinions on some of their beers, but have enjoyed Short's Huma Lupa and Oddside Citra Pale Ale in the past. Buckledown has been getting some hype lately, so you should be able to find their stuff, particularly the Clencher stuff.

I think Zombie Dust is actually pretty easily found on draft, although with your limited time not sure if it will fit in. I think Local Option and/or Hopleaf seem to always have it on tap. I know Kuma's has it frequently as of late as well, and since you're talking about food, I would highly suggest going to Kuma's to eat - best burgers around. It is always super busy, but if you go there right when they open you should be fine (especially if you're by yourself). Beer Temple is right down the road from them, too, so I'd stop in there - not as huge of a selection as Binny's, but very good, and their ability to tailor their service to each customer is top notch. They really focus on having fresh stuff, too.

I've seen Kuma mentioned here many times (Also Mikerphone beers). Even last year when I was in Chicago, the BA's here had mentioned Kuma. I will look into that as a choice this time around. Will probably be back 2 or 3 times this year. So have plenty of choices in the future. Thank you @croush.

I'm also a Californian who visits Chicago 3-4 times a year. I've found Zombie Dust on tap somewhere every single time. Places you should check include, but are not limited to: Clark Street Ale House, Monks Pub, Hopleaf and Kumas. State & Lake (downtown) usually has ZD bottles.

All of the Binny's tend to stock Pipeworks. Binny's Grand downtown is great and (as mentioned) Binny's Lincoln Park is a must stop for bottles and they have rotating taps in house for an added bonus.

If you use untapped, I've found the "nearby bars" feature to work well to find noteworthy taps that are "trending". I found BCBCS on tap at a random bar in Wicker Park earlier this week using this method.

I missed out on Dino Smores/Coffee Dino Smores. How does this compare?

It's better IMO. I'd refer to my tasting notes but untappd's website seems to be dead today.

This is the conclusion both my girlfriend and I reached, as well. Dino is very smooth/pleasant to drink, but I think Smore Money just tastes better and more like a smore.

I had Coconut Jones yesterday, and shared it with some friends for Easter. It was way too much coconut for me - I called it Banana Boat Stout. But, my friends both enjoyed it - my wife's friend liked it so much I gave her about half of my glass to finish.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I prefer Dino Smores. It's a very European-style stout (think thinner and more dark fruits/licorice than the coffee/chocolate of American stouts), and is much better balanced.

Pipeworks interpretation is basically liquid s'mores and is completely imbalanced (though still very tasty).

I would've preferred PW's in my earlier beer days when it was all about extremes, but my penchant for balance these days has me preferring Dino (and, even moreso, Coffee Dino).

Any idea what's coming down the pipe? I haven't had an email from PW since the Glaucus release.
