Not a fan of the Brass Castle beers that I've tried, just a few beer festival disappointments. I haven't rated Bloody 'ell much either, not since the first bottled batch. After that the cans have just seemed like a disappointment (compared to the hype that surrounds the release).

Brewdog Soho London had 16.5% Tokyo on draft last night. Yum

Discovered a nice wine shop near my new place that does a good selection of local beers. Ended up with Bellevue Chestnut Porter and Black Lager, Weird Beard Out of Office coffee IPA, Kew Brewery Sheep in Wolves Clothing saison, and a Hacker Pschorr Helles as it was cold and ready to drink when I got home.

The Chestnut Porter is decent, bits of burnt bitterness, sweetness and an almost creamy texture.

Anyone been to Craft100 festival this weekend at Craft Beer Co Clapham? Damn that was crazy.

What I can remember that I tried today:
Evil Twin Big Ass Money Stout, Hoppin Frog BORIS and DORIS, Anarchy Knuckle Dragger vs Antichrist, and Alesmith Speedway Vietnamese

Wish I could somehow get 1/6 of a pint instead of 1/3 as the smallest.

Arrived in Aberdeen today and have enjoyed a few beers and whiskeys at casc, nice beer bar and picked up a founders imperial stout, as well as drinking wild beer wildebeest, tempest brave new world and moor benny havens barley wine on draft. For the hotel room picked up standard cans of tennents, and a deuchars ipa inspired by another recent thread on here, since I don't find this in England. Had a couple of harviestoun beers too. Tomorrow will be visiting brewdog and six° north.

I had a bottle of that to get me through the Queen's speech at Xmas. Real sipper.

I've seen a few bottles around my area like the Milk Stout priced similar. Good value for decent US brews.

Dybuk another excellent brew from Poland, listed as a porter but more stout like, never the less hits all the right buttons.

I finally opened the Cantillon Rose' and I was not very impressed with it. I've had a fair share of lambics and for all of the mystique and hype, I was disappointed. I won't be spending £14 any time soon on another bottle. To cheer myself up after the disappointment I had a Oskar Blues Hotbox Coffee Porter, which was quite nice.

Yeah, they're not all that. Really overhyped.

Talking of ugly tasting beers, I am not sure what the hell to make of this Chorlton's Sandalwood Ale. It's a quality beer but tastes very strongly of lathered up old ladies. I imagine.

Weird Beard Out of Office (7.0%) - quite nice IPA, lovely fresh hoppiness with a deep, bitter coffee taste akin to a stout or porter. Not my favourite kind of thing though, but good to try.

Had two imperial stouts this weekend that I've been waiting a long time to try: Good King Henry and Yellow Belly. I think GKH may be my new favorite UK beer. It's been three days and I'm still thinking about it. YB was very unique, although I'm not sure it is something I'd want to drink on a regular basis.

I have a Yellow Belly that I'm waiting to try. Does anyone know where I can find Good King Henry in London?

Tried Fourpure Southern Latitude and Beartooth Brown Ale yesterday, straight out of the can but still good.

I also found the only Sam Smiths pub around here but was disappointing to find only keg lines. Tried the extra stout which was okay. Good Guinness substitute.

A couple of beers recently have really been stand out; Fuller's Past Masters 1910 Double Stout and Cheshire Brewhouse Govinda IPA (Chevalier Edition). I've had a few Cheshire Brewhouse beers and never been disappointed, but somehow they seem to fly under the tickerati/bloggerati radar.

Nice, I've been wondering about investing in some 1910 Double Stout.

Pint of Ilkley Crossroads West Coast IPA. Alright, very malty. Not helped by it being served quite warm.

    I wanted a hoppy IPA & a big stout
So grabbed some American craft beer
A pint can of Mike Hess Brewing Solid
& a bomber of Gigantic's Superbad coffee stout
but when I got to the till at Beermoth and Jamie Hancock of Five Oh Brew co was at the till & so was his Vodoo Down Imperial coffee stout
    So the Superbad got swapped
