Super excited for this. I wonder if it will hit distro or is just going to be brewery only?

I have to imagine it will with the 500ml size. Fingers crossed.

Yes, interesting bottle size. I like it. Maybe sold in 4-packs?

The label says 12.7 oz, which is the 375 mL size. I imagine they'll be 4 packs sold at $18-20.

Yeah it's the 375 ml like Pernicious, 500 ml is like the Freak bottle size. Definitely a peculiar choice. I'm cool with it though, I like having small format stouts around.

Pernicious is 11.2 which is around ~ 330ml. I agree with all, I'm happy no matter how they bottle it, but was surprised it wasn't the same format as Pernicious.

Fair enough. So you're saying this is a completely new bottle size?

Ahhhh I'm with y'all now, my bad. I can dig. In that case, I don't think it will be 4-packs, I think they'll sell these janks for like $8 or $9 a pop.

Calling it at $15 if its a 375. Remember its Wicked Weed we are talking about and a huge BA stout.

Definitely agree. I'm expecting this to be in the $12-15 range.

Yeah, Wicked Weed's business model is genius: Garner extreme amounts of hype for the first year with no bottles, do brewery-only bottle releases for the majority of the second year which continues to drive the hype, then make what seems to be, on average, a new bottled beer every single week for the third year all while charging the same price other breweries charge for 750 mL bottles but with 500 mL bottles. Dark Age will definitely retail for at least $12.99...and I will buy multiple because I love this beer. Like I said, genius.

Exactly why I am weening myself off of WW's beers. Too much hype for damn good beer (not OMG beer...) which carries an exorbitant price tag. For example, $6 for a 500 ml bottle of Freak? 500 ml is roughly 1.6 oz more than a pint. When compared to some of the best DIPA out there, where most come in or around 3.75 - $4 for 16 oz's, that's roughly an additional $2 more for the pleasure of drinking 1.6 oz's more of WW's beer? I'm not even going to start regarding WW's seemingly weekly exotic / limited release offerings. Will I drink their beers on occasion moving forward? Probably but I be damned if I am going to pay an arm and a leg for it (except on an exception basis) and standing in any form of line for it is completely out of the question. Plenty of other perfectly acceptable options out there beer wise these daze.

I enjoy Wicked Weed beer alot. Quite honestly one of my favorite breweries, but more so because of my exposure to them, and being somewhat close and in their distro now.

But they are so, so expensive. Over priced, to the point it's past the "price it high" for the luxury appeal, but so high it makes me grab a bottle and put it back because it's just not worth it. I think it's evident atleast around ATL that people aren't buying their stuff up as fast anymore, the newness is worn, and a large percent just are just priced out of the equation.

That said- I do, and still buy bottles. I think their sours are premature, and need atleast 2-3 months in the bottle to really dial in, and in some cases, some are ready to roll right out the gate. Hard to tell with as many beers as they are blasting out.

Regardless- I'll be on the look out for the Dark Age. I think most people clamor for anything barrel aged, so they can jack up the price, make a smaller bottle and call it a day counting it up.

Really curious what the price will be on this. I had this at the Brewpup last week and was very surprised to find it priced at $4.75 for a snifter. I've never seen a barrel aged stout anywhere near that cheap.

Friend of mine called the brewery a couple of days ago and was told that it'd be released next week. Take that information for as much worth as you paid for it.
