Yeah, my Wednesday visits are always at dinner time lately and I find myself hoping for a new special every week. I've eaten a helluva lot of grilled cheeses and chicken sandwiches along with some pork belly tacos and fish sandwiches.

Just dropped by HPB hoping to catch the last secret keg of Bonkers, but it kicked :slight_frown:
Hello, El Dorado was still great along with Uncle Rad. Oddly a lot of wine drinkers there tonight, is that a Monday thing?

I love them there tacos but I've been converted to the sliders and strongly believe they are superior (but really, the food there is great).

I wonder if there's any chance pickup windows for Help Yourself and the forthcoming Company of Parrots will overlap.

Totally spaced on the proxy signup for Help Yourself bottles until this morning. Bob is quick to respond to emails, but was unable to offer an exception. Of course that is legit, I missed the window to put down a proxy. All of this means I will now have to visit HPB. This will be scary because LA but at least I can witness first hand what this is all about instead of just drinking all of their beers.

Also this past weekend opened Lazy Susan and Lazier Susan side by side (lazier won since it tasted more fruit forward and not as tart as lazy). Also cracked that ba hammered satin (next to a ch'nook and crannies but different brewery, so I will hype it up in that thread). Damn.... both were delicious.

Awww snap. And now that I finally realized where HPB actually is I can take a little side trip to Forest Lawn and pay my respects to Lemmy Kilmister.

Now it is like this failure of mine was somehow planned.

since you're so deep in food talk, i think it's worth mentioning (with huge apologies to management that it's for another place but i suspect they like supporting the neighborhood).... the spot 2 blocks east is a big draw for me to make the drive ever since someone in this thread suggested it. huitlacoche huaraches are really good after beers

i quite like the avo toasts at Hermo

HPB is possible via Gold Line & DASH bus. Not as convenient as Noble, but not a total PITA.

Make sure you go to the right Forrest Lawn. HPB is located near Forrest Lawn Memorial Park, but Lemmy is Forrest Lawn Hollywood Hills. Or at least that is what google tells me.

I lived in Highland Park for years and I never got the appeal of Huaraches Azteca, personally, but there are a ton of great taquerias along York, whatever your pleasure. The York is pretty great, too, as is Maximiliano. Town is pretty solid pizza. The food at The Hermosillo is great, but there's a lot of find options along that street.

Already checked, it is the correct one. Unless somehow the zipcodes have failed me drastically.

There's potential for overlapping in the future, especially at the lower allotment sizes that they're doing. Where as before they gave some breathing room between last weekend of pick up and new online sale when it was 4-6 bottle limit. Now they see that if it's only 2-3 bottles, it's not going to destroy your bank account.

Besides, there's something that can get in between Parrot's B2 release...

Rbarnes is right. it's not that far away, but it's not the one that's close to HPB.

perhaps you could stop off and pick up a burrito on the way to enjoy while visiting Lemmy's grave
