Drinking a hipster right now. Tastes good to me. Was all worried it would be off. But tastes like I remember it.

On that note. Also not my favorite. Had high hopes going in originally, and it is good, but just not my favorite flavor combo.

Can anyone confirm which batch of Hazel's is off? The Black Friday batch, or this year's?

As above, I don't think there have been any reports of bad Hazels. I had one last week and another this week....both were just fine. But I have personally had an off BBAIMM and Hipster.

Cracked a Hazel's yesterday (from Black Friday release). Not the same.
Getting that fizzy pop like carb which is first indication that something is amiss. Flavors are good, but not the same as fresh. Worried a similar turn is happening.
I'm not one to pile on, but the recent Hipster I had was not doing as well as fresh, but also not nearly as bad as some of the drama llamas are making it seem. Kept mine stored in a fruit/wine cellar at fridge temps or below. Now that its starting to warm I'm pulling all my adjuncted stouts to the beer fridge.
I've always been of the opinion that coffee and other weird adjuncted stouts are best fresh.
Why I let my Hipster sit this long is on me.

Then why don't you go in and speak to them like I have?

Not everyone chugs through a case of 10% stouts.

Don't worry though - if you have 2014 Hipsters, they are still OK. This 2015 was just, you know, a special limited shelf-life version.

Rob, Anchordrops has emailed the company. Oddsides replied to him basically saying the beer is fine. This is the problem many of us are having as the beer is not fine. 2014 hipster does and did not develop a tart taste.

So the response is different in person than via email?

Robbrockjr works for/with them or has in the past. Maybe that's why he's shilling for them? Rob, are they doing something for the locals in Grand Haven but not for the rest of us who bought those estimated 1500 cases of BA Mayan/Hipster @ 100 bucks a case? Just a guess but I'm thinking they are sitting on that estimated 150K they made selling all that beer out their front door over something like 2 separate release days and laughing and laughing. But this isn't done yet. They won't get away with it I would hope. Amazing to me the lengths some people go to cover for these guys.

I wonder what would happen if the media were to pick up on this story? Target 8 and Fox17 Problem Solver stories are all the rage these days.

I wonder what independent lab testing will show? I mean they tested it according to their canned email statements, right?

Well they will have plenty of information in this thread.

I believe they had a "tasting panel", which doesn't sound very scientific.

That tasting panel is why we all have this fantastic beer in the first place. How could they be wrong? They have to at least be as qualified as their sanitation team.

Then maybe "not everyone" should re-think buying 10%+ stouts by the case (or dolly-load of cases). I hope I don't sound like I'm defending Odd Side, but I'm still having a hard time feeling sorry for those who purchased way way more than they can drink in a reasonable amount of time, and then complain when it's "off" when they finally get to it.
