I can't speak to the facebook post, but the review on this site (which appears to be deleted) was spot on in regards to the beer in question. Great nose, lacks flavor. It won't be on my purchase list and I'm a huge Surly fan (got 5 4 packs of Todd, a few bottles of Darkness and a BA darkness in the house right now).

I'm going shopping this weekend and does anyone know if Men's Warehouse is having their semi-annual tirade??

I'm looking forward to trying this beer though. Just like with Summit & their "Us & Them" beer, some people didn't care for the session thread, but I thought it was pretty solid.

Solid 4/5 stars on untappd as of now. Seems like it's probably a pretty decent beer. As with all beer, opinions will vary, so drink what you like.

Picked up a 4-pack this afternoon. Loved the price point first off. I've been pretty critical of Surly's prices a bit, so this was nice.

As for the actual beer, it was kind of just alright. It's just a bit too light on taste almost like watered down. I certainly wouldn't turn it down if offered, it's certainly not obtrusive, especially on a warm day, but there just isn't a whole lot of taste in my opinion.

I grabbed a pack yesterday, but didn't get to try it, as they'd kept it warm :astonished:

If it's any good, I'll be back to grab some more, as it was priced well.

I picked up a pack of it over at Lyndale Liquors. Personally I'm a big fan and think it's better than the bad Psuedo Sue coming out of Florida.

The first can I had was bad, it seemed as though something was wrong with it and I ended up dumping it. The second can was better, but I am not a fan of this beer from my experience so far. I would like to try it on tap just to make sure it is not the cans, specifically my cans. At this point though, even at the price point, I will not be buying it again.

Really? I didn't think it had even half the flavor of PS.

The first Sue I had was the real stuff from Iowa. It was absolutely fantastic. When Minnesota started getting bottles and cans from the Florida facility, I was so let down. I honestly thought it was a pretty poor beer. The aroma and flavor was just not there compared to the real stuff. The last cans of it I got were about a month ago so maybe it's gotten better in the past month.

I first had xtra citra on tap and was pleasantly surprised. So maybe I just have a bad bias on all of this. Also, never drink a hoppy beer from the bottle or can.

However, I will agree on the pricing. It is pretty outrageous.

I had the xtra on tap at reds. I thought it was really bland tasting. I haven't had sue in cans, I had a bottle of FL sue that wasn't bad at all....much better flavor than the xtra IMO.

At home IPA's are all served in tulips. Out, you get what you get, but I've never been served one without a glass.

Sue hasn't been in 12 oz bottles for a while now.

On topic, I'm looking forward to at least trying a 4-pack of xtra

I grabbed a four pack late last night and they were cold, so took one down when I got home. A very solid beer at a reasonable price ($6.99). The aroma was quite nice, flavor was mild, but good for the style. This will be a great summer beer.

Had a can last night and it is a nice smelling beer, and about on par for a session IPA flavor wise, which for me, is more of a watered down flavor from the majority I've had. There was absolutely zero head retention or lacing on my glass. This is the second beer now (Todd being the other) that the foam has just faded to nothingness.

This isn't even comparable to Sue, even the Florida stuff. Not even the same style, so not even sure why there is a comparison, but I'd take FL Sue over this 10/10 times.
