Other Half Brewing Thread (March 2016)

How is anyone the problem? Who cares where the people are coming from? Is there a pecking order to who is most worthy of obtaining other half beer? They don't have the capacity to make the beer they need to make everyone happy and what they do make they are terrible at distributing.

I'll stick with sand city. Beer is just as good and a pleasure to visit

 

anyone else finding all citra everything a bit on the boozier side? wondering if i should let it sit for a week or so

 

I am all for fresh beer, but recent craze of getting beers a day or two from canning and people thinking they have scored is impacting people's perception on when beer is best. It could be day one or two, but could also be 2 or 3 weeks out.

 

Something like ACE is gonna need at least 1 week from canning to calm down a bit. Give it two weeks and it's going to be something really special. On draft is a different story. I had it on tap last Thursday and it was Rob Thomas Smooth.

 

Didn't seem boozy at all to me, but this is a common issue with OH cans. If you want to the release you should have plenty of cans - you can see how it evolves over the next few weeks - that's my plan. No need to drink them all now, and I probably couldn't drink these all in a week anyway.

 

Having Galaxy now out of the can. Much hazier than last week and tastes a little thicker and absolutely incredible! Bumping this one up in rating from 4.25 to 4.5 out of 5.

 

I haven't found the ACE all that boozy, the 8.5% is a pretty nice number. I mean the alchol is still present but not a dominating flavor like I've noticed with the GD

 

Anyone know what's next up? Based on recent trends, we might just see Full Nelson (better name than ANE). As for ACE, I don't find anywhere as boozy as GD, AGE, or Suparillo.

Anyone know if more kegs of Get Wheated and ACE are going to start hitting the city? Surpised I haven't seen Get Wheated around lately...

Mission Dolores anniversary beer sounds good. "The IIPA is called ! and was brewed with copious amounts of Nelson Sauvin, Topaz, and Wai-iti hops. It's a juice bomb. It will be available@missiondoloresbar starting Friday at noon and @bargreatharry@theowlfarmbarsometime during the weekend. We will also have it at our taproom starting Saturday at noon."

 

Sound delicious. Going to have to grab a pint at the brewery this weekend.

 

Sounds bangin! Guessing this will be very similar to 2nd Anniversary. Gonna be out of town this weekend and I don't see this lasting long than Sunday unfortunately.

 

That would suck as I was banking on just trying it on tap somewhere instead of lining up. Meh, just beer.

have you tried that new Mosaic/Motueka IIPA that is up tonight in the taproom?

 

I've been planning on going to this event all week. Love Mission Dolores and their whole family of bars. The event looks pretty good too at MD.
