Isn't that the same way they did it for BA Troegenator? You'd have to be nuts to just buy one.
Really hoping they have enough to last until Sunday.

They sell it in the taproom for $12/bottle for onsite consumption (retail price) so that's probably the strange single bottle pricing.

Just got my case. They also just tapped a double version of blizzard of hops which is damn tasty

So I just cracked one at "outdoor" temp (I was at troegs for a couple hours after getting my case, and it was in my trunk, and didn't have time to chill one when I got home if I wanted to try one). It's a very, very good beer. I was worried since I think '16 Troegenator is way worse than the '14 was (though still a fine beer by all means), and was worried that this beer would be a shell of the '15 release (which really worries me since I love BBA barleywines but most non-BBA barleywines I'm not a huge fan of and this one is a confirmed blend). While it's not as boozy as the '15 was fresh, it still has great, complex flavors, and goes down very smooth. Very glad I got a case of this, though probably half of it or so is gonna be BIF'd out over time.

Does anyone know if BA Troegenator and BA Mouflan are still available? I'm thinking of taking a run up either tomorrow or Saturday. Thank you.

Plenty left Tuesday. I like the barrel aged Troegenator better. plenty of that left also. Don't miss the scratch 220 amber ale.

If that's the 11+% beer they call a barleywine it should be labeled a barleywine. An 11% Amber is unheard of and wasn't anything I'd look for in an amber beer.

I love living around the corner from Troegs, so many good things coming our way. This was a release from this past January: http://www.pennlive.com/food/index.ssf/2016/01/troegs_to_expand_brewery_for_m.html

"Set for completion by mid-April, Troegs' new "Splinter Cellar" will include three wooden fermenters, each more than 23 feel tall and able to hold up to 10,000 gallons of beer. The project also will add glass exterior walls to the northeast side of the brewery, allowing brewery visitors a view of the three towering behemoths from outside, according to an artist rendering of the project.

Chris Trogner, co-owner of Troegs, said the timeline might run into mid May depending on weather conditions as much of the Splinter Cellar project involves exterior work.

Trogner said the brewery has been making wood-aged beer for "a while but on a very small scale." All of that beer has been in house.

But, over the next few months, Trogner said the brewery hopes to release bottles of bourbon-barrel aged Flying Mouflan, a barley wine, and bourbon-barrel aged Troegenator, a double bock and one of the brewery's flagship beers.

The brewery also is aiming to release "Wild Elf" by the time the Splinter Cellar is finished, Trogner said. The beer, as explained by co-owner John Trogner in the news release, features Mad Elf aged with more than 600 pounds of cherries in wooden fermenters."

You forgot to include this: we will begin work on the parking lot upgrades with a long-term goal of increasing parking spaces.

True, which may be one of the most important upgrades at Troegs for those of us who hit it up, parking can be a big issue!!

I just tried the new version and felt compelled to post.

Last year this beer floored me, it was one of the best beers ive ever had from Troegs. It encompassed everything i love about bourbon barrel aged beer - the base beer was noticeable but seemingly had an addition of vanilla and caramel sweetness and a pleasant bourbon addition. Fantastic

This years version displays none of the highlights of last year. No bourbon, caramel or vanilla. Its really just a raw, woody medicinal mess. I could drink bottle after bottle of last years, this years I didnt want to drink more than half a bottle. I really wanted to like this but that virgin barrel or raw barrel crap that they seem so interested in has ruined this beer for me.

I get that everyone has their opinions, and with that I'll say I disagree! While I don't think this years' is quite as good as last, I feel it's still a fantastic beer. I was skeptical after being very much let down by Troegenator (although I've warmed up to it a little bit after having it a couple times, I just think it's a shell of what I remember from the '14 release), but found this Mouflan to be quite good.

from someone drinking troegenator longer then I've been a BA I can say with strong certainty that troegenator is better then ever.
