I’m not sure of the point you’re trying to make? I have a sour that is amazing and DFPF is apparently amazing. I’ve never had DFPF and would like to try it. So what’s the point you’re trying to make? Between my g/f and I, we have three more. I shouldn’t trade one to try a beer I’ve never had that I know she’d love as well?

I keep seeing people on here and FB commenting about the price like it is unheard of for a barrel aged beer to cost $25. I get that this is a sour (rather than a stout) but there are tons of BA sours out there at this price point and higher. Don Gavino by CCB was $25. Wicked Weed just released Red Angel for $20 each for a 500ml bottle. The Veritas series by Lost Abbey are $40 per bottle (so is the collaboration they just did with Wicked Weed)

But I don’t understand why you find it interesting? What is interesting about it? I’ve had Whalez on several occasions and we have four bottles total. We have zero bottles of DFPF and would like to try it. How is that interesting to you to the extent that you read my post, then found my ISO:FT, and post it here via a backhanded post? Would you suggest I offer a shitty beer for DFPF instead? Honestly, I think you’re just a ass with too much time on your hands.

Dude, you're taking this way too seriously. Trade your beer if you want to. If it's not good or not a fair deal people won't do the trade. Is it kinda funny that you come in here and talk about how amazing it is and then turn around and try to trade it for something established? Probably to some, but we've all done it and you have multiples like you said. Don't get worked up, at the end of the day this is the internet and we're discussing beers, not too serious of a subject.

I guess I still don't get the point. So you guys are saying people shouldn't trade beers they think taste great? I mean that's exactly what you're both saying. So even since I have multiples and want to try DFPF and want to offer a fair trade for it on my side, I shouldn't trade the bottle bc I have publically stated that it tastes amazing, which it does.

I think the point they are making is more about locals hyping a beer only to trade it, whether by comments or high ratings. I don't think anyone here is going to say you shouldn't trade any, especially since we all have "Beer Trader" under our names...
*Not saying I agree with them attacking you for it, but it certainly happens way too much these days.

OMG, so now I can't be happy for Eric and state that he made an amazing beer? I'm pretty sure my one single comment on how good the beer is wouldn't be considered hyping. I'm genuinely excited for Eric and OBB and the beer is truly phenomenal.

Good thing people aren't actually having these types of senseless "discussions" face-to-face, right? I know it's tough to tell e-sarcasm from e-serious but damn. I swear I wanna stab these forums in the neck sometimes. Now carry on...:grinning:

Hey man, I'm on YOUR side here. Was just trying to help explain the push back.

I really enjoyed Whalez and was bummed I couldn't get by to get bottles. Cheers!

I guess I missed the joke? I mean there was certainly nothing funny. I said a beer tasted great. I have several of them. I tried to trade one for a DFPF and then someone goes out of their way to say "it's funny" that I'd say it's great then trade it. I guess my humor isn't as bland as that. Let's call a spade a spade and realize he's being a dick. If it was a joke why link to my FT post? I mean it's just purely unnecessary.

I'm starting to suspect this is all an elaborate ploy to direct people to your trade page.

 He's not the one that brought up his trade or the trade value.

What is going on here?! It's not like the guy was trying to sell a bottle at a huge markup?!

Can we get back to the beer and/or releases?

You've typed wayyyyy more than I have on this little joke, meaning you've spent way more time on it.

AND now you're calling me an "ass" , when I've been polite in every post, left smileys to show it was good natured joking, and supported you trading the beer saying "happy hunting", etc. (please go back and read my posts, unedited)

If you don't "get it" that's fine, others do, its not a big deal at all. I really fail to see why its caused you to resort to name calling on the internet with someone you've never met.

I was working late last night, and taking breaks to peruse BA, sorry I'll get back to curing cancer and stop reading/posting

edit> And I just linked because the post doesn't make sense otherwise. Anyway, I dislike this type of internet arguing and feel badly that I precipitated it, I'll report/delete all MY posts, it is off topic.

In my experience when someone reacts to something the way you have here, it's because they realize there's a shade of truth to it and are trying to mask it.

If you truly can't see why this is funny, let me explain... another user expressed his opinion that this was only an OK brew. You went out of your way to call him crazy, inquire as to the details of when and where he tried it, etc... seemingly in an effort to prove that this beer is incredible. And then mere hours later, you post one up for trade.

There's definitely a bit of humor / absurdity to someone talking up a beer, attacking someone who didn't enjoy said beer, and then turning around and posting theirs up for trade.

But maybe my sense of humor is off and I'm just a bland simpleton. We can't all be as cultured as you...

Reacts like I do? Shade of truth? What am I hiding here? The beer is fantastic. I've had it on several occasions and even had the beer treated with vanilla (which is unreal good). I truly don't understand the issue to begin with so the initial post caught me off guard. I'm friends with Eric. I'm excited that he had his first bottle release, sold them all out, and has an amazing beer. I have an emotional connection to that. The whole OBB/Cycle crew does an amazing job and I'm excited for their success.

The reason I inquired where he had tried it was bc it's truly unfair to rate a beer when you're piss drunk at a festival and have a 2oz pour after having 100 other 2oz pours. I was simply going to suggest he try it fresh out of the bottle but it appears he has done so, or at least on draft, and therefore I assume he just doesn't like the beer which is totally okay.

I'm still wildly not understanding how I'm not allowed to say a beer is great yet seek out another beer that I want. That makes zero sense and there is no direct correlation to what you or others are trying to suggest. I didn't hype the beer up. I made a single comment and I do truly think the beer is great. There is no humor or absurdity I knowing that I get to enjoy three additional bottles of Whalez and trade one for another great beer. You guys are free to have your opinions or thoughts but I feel your viewpoints on the matter lack any merit and that a lot of time and effort was wasted to try and call me out.
