South Loop had 2 bottles per person - about 50+ people in line by 9AM. They had at least 14 cases on the floor, so I'm sure everyone there (by 9AM) got some. Got my 2 and was out by 9:05 .. saw some people getting back in line for a second go around ...

Whole Foods DePaul told me on the phone that they don't even have it...

But I was in there for Breakfast and they had a "Special Release at noon" sign set up with some Founders brews below it. Odd...

That's weird. The beer guy there told me they would be releasing it today at 11 am. I'm not sure if I heard him right but he also mentioned something about bourbon county and that there would be a line.

That's bizarre. Thanks for the info. The sign I mentioned (in my edited post) was a Bourbon County sign, but I assumed that's just the sign they use for big releases.

I'm about to be there in a little bit and will ask about it. I'll let you know what they say.

All the WF are on different schedules for the most part based on deliveries. You just need to keep in touch with your local one and see what's going on.

I was able to hit LP and Lakeview Binny's - very easy.

It's a no go for today. I guess there was some mixup. Maybe sometime next week? Specialty guy Ian here is not the friendliest.

They are having a sign up for bourbon county bottle release. They have 5 cases of regular and 2 cases of barleywine. Not really sure how they think they'll push that barleywine.

I'm guessing I talked to Ian on the phone because he was pretty short with me. Thanks a lot for letting me know and saving me the trip.

Hit 3 Berkots locations in will/cook county about an hour ago, one 4 pack limit with all of them down to less than 3 cases.

Flexible schedule. I work for a small company that doesn't care if I take time off during the day as long as I get my shit done.

I have work flexibility to be able to work from home and pop over to a store for a bit if I need to. I feel very fortunate for this.

With the other people that have similar flexibility, or work nights or did (gasp) take the day off, there are always plenty of people at a release regardless of time.
It was gone within 20 minutes or so.

It's only about 10 minutes away, just hopped over and hopped back. I suppose my work is pretty flexible but they don't even notice me gone for a half an hour or so.
