Curious as well, as this is one of the best deals for a BA stout.

Only one place in NC will have it. And they're right next to my office, but it looks like they got a keg. I'd rather have a bottle but oh well.

Not every store got some though. In my area there are 4 or 5 Liquor-barns and only two of them got any in. They are releasing at 6:00pm as well.

You have no problem with the markup due to shipping and handling costs, but you object to the overhead costs of a bar or restaurant?

Walked in to my Friendly Local Liquor Emporium and was just at the right timed to score two bottles. One is scheduled for this evening.

Of course I don't have a problem with that - but I feel like the markup on the pours is a lot higher and it's just a lot less bang for your buck. $10 for 8oz (which is what I paid today) is worse than $6-7 for 12oz. The markup just feels a lot higher. Maybe it's right in line and I'm just bad at math.

In any case, I paid it, and "ripoff" was too strong a word.

It is certainly steep, but typically not as bad as the markup on wine, which used to be approximately 300%. I find you actually get better value the more expensive the beer is. Because at a certain point, the bar knows they aren't going to get any more than $XX for a pour of beer, no matter their own costs. Again, you are also paying for their overhead and the privilege of drinking in their establishment.

I've missed the release for the last 2 years. Maybe 3rd time's the charm. If any of you KY or OH folks see it around anywhere, a heads up would be greatly appreciated.

Same here in NM. fyi its a 1 four pack limit at mine. Luckily between some relatives spending habits on wine and hard liquor, combined with my own habits, we qualified (sadly). This is the first beer related special release they have offered us. It's always wine and special edition whiskeys. They said they emailed me a validation barcode to print out and confirm my status/purchase. I did not receive an email but they were were able to sell me one anyway.

Founders just got here in October of 2015, so this is the first sort of KBS release for my area. I want to say 10 total cases between two stores (with a 1 four pack limit at each. And one of those being TW, so the high level reserved is cutting into first day availability) with another place selling last years variety (4 cases of those). Those are two of the most trafficked stores in my city, so who knows what else is out there. You hate to tell a store what to do, and by seeing much lower bottle limits posted here (and not pack limits), I guess I feel lucky, pat myself on the back, and move on. I got my limit and will call it a day. I guess it's tough to gauge interest. Luckily Fridays are early days. I'm fearful that it's sold out for the 5pm crowd

Price was $20 at one place and $21 at another

I'm in Austin, and its basically 1pp or (in one case) 2pp... also selling out very quickly. Haven't heard of it costing more than $5.99, but I also didn't go to Sunrise or Whichcraft

I have some that's easily 2-3 years old and it's great, the harsh coffee fades a bit, but it's very smooth and still has plenty left with a few years on it. Bcbcs ages beautifully, well so does KBS.

Finally an even bigger reason to head out to Sandusky's Small City Taphouse.

Beggars can't be choosers I guess. But it is my money. Check those bottled on dates. TW sold me some of the 2015 release. Likely it was all they had. So I guess you can't complain too much, right?

Was it at least cheaper? or do these beers get more expensive as time passes?
