I know Binny's, Malloy's type stores will be legit. I'm just saying I can't get to a Binny's for these things anymore until at least 5PM, so I'm left with my only options of getting ***** by the mom and pop stores who would charge $12 a bottle or do the "you have to buy something else, too" card. I'll have plenty on tap over the next month so I'm sure I'll survive

Liquor Barn in Wheeling release was at 2:00 this afternoon. They still had some at 3:10 but are charing $10 a bottle. After getting a 4-pack at Binnys for $23 I told them to keep them.

I certainly can't tell anyone how to spend their hard-earned money but in this situation I would choose the 3rd of the two options - move on & purchase another delicious beer and let some other sucker pay the excessive prices. You alluded to this in your last sentence as well. Maybe find it on draft too. Good luck.

I agree here, and there are plenty of generous BA's and/or trade opportunities for you to try it in bottle...in addition to all the draft opportunities you alluded to.

Was a really smooth and easy experience at the Skokie Binnys. Line wasn't nuts and 4 pack limit.

The beer itself, however? Tastes extremely boozy and bitter with an unpleasant almost burnt butterscotch note that I occasionally get from BA stouts. I've always felt like KBS is a little overrated because it's a classic but this is not what I remember.

The Jewel on Broadway in Lakeview had some in the storage room as of 6.

I saw this as well. They had 4-5 cases left when I was there, which was shortly after you.

Jewel costs $2 less per 4 pack than Binny's was charging, too, as an FYI.

Another BA member said that this year's batch was relatively disappointing. I still haven't tried mine, but that's two people now that've had similar sentiment.

It will be sad if I'm disappointed (will have it later tonight) because KBS was the beer that turned me towards 'the dark side'.

Yeah hearing reports it tastes like bitter ash this year. Kinda glad I didn't hunt any down.

Had it on tap tonight. Tasted great and consistent with 2015. No bitter ash here.

Drinking one of the two I was allocated today. Being a loyal regular has merit.

Walked into Naperville binnys shortly before 5. Right in the entrance there is a huge dry erase board the read "Kbs sold out!". While wondering the store I overhear an associate tell a customer to head to checkout counter #1... I watch the guy walk up and the cashier pulls out a bottle of KBS from underneath and rings the guy up.

Binny's will hold for regulars, probably what you saw.

I was definitely not disappointed in it. Had realistic expectations and thought it was excellent. Not bitter at all.

I asked if there was a limit and they asked how many I wanted...I knew not to press it, so I just said 2 and they gave me a couple. I then saw all the cases they had and joked "I'll take a whole box", but that didn't work out!
I've heard people say it's the best they've ever had and now I've heard people say they were disappointed. Same old story when these annual releases come out. I'll be the judge for myself in about an hour!

So after hunting throughout the day I secured 2 four packs from Jewel and 2 singles from Binny's - was much easier to get than I expected so I'm happy about that. The guy at Jewel was hilarious - it was no limits so he asked how much I wanted and I said Id take 2 4-packs if that was ok - he was like "sure, whatever, I guess this stuff is something special?" Had to just laugh - most people just don't get why we're so excited over "some beer". Can't wait to crack one open, but Im waiting until this cold clears up ...
