Freetail has been releasing La Muerta since 2009. Just because you sell a bottle at a brewpub doesn't mean it is for offsite consumption. Brewpubs have always been able to sell their own beers in bottles and growlers as far as I know.

But if you don't distribute, you can sell for off premises as a brewpub? Even if you sold at the brewpub. I'm in the industry so I am just trying to get an understanding not trying to be a dick or anything.

I mean from my understanding you are either a producer, wholesale or retail. Breweries are producers therefore they are not legally allowed to sell beer for off premises at the brewery(retail). As a brewpub you are on a retail side since they sell beer to be consumed for the customer (even though they brew it themselves), that's why brewpubs can not distribute in Texas because they would then cross into the wholesale side..

I know, stupid Texas laws. I am just confused because I believe that brewpubs can sell to people to drink in the pub but they can not sell beer to go. (but from what I read, I saw HB 602 allows this). I am just trying to understand. I guess getting sidetracked from the release party.

Thanks! Any idea when the tickets will be passed out? Do they go to the first 60 people there when things get going at 8 or is there some other system set up? With only 60 available, I'm trying to give myself the best odds.

Awe-struck bad language. That sounds magnificent. Is that a draft only beer, or is it bottled? And if it is, indeed, a bottled beer, to whom do I start begging for a trade?

A brewery cannot sell on site. A brewpub can only sell onsite.

Off premises means to consume off premises. Sorry for distracting. Party on and fuck the man!

Well it doesn't matter where you drink it as long as it is purchased onsite. This is obvious otherwise growlers and bottles would both be illegal. TABC is ridiculous in when it comes to these types of situations. It is all a ridiculous setup.

It should be the 1st 60 people to arrive. When will the tickets be passed out? As soon as Freetail employees, or Scott, show up. If you miss out on Fortuna Roja you still have the ability to purchase 4 solid beers.

It's going to be released in bottles on the 15th.

Brewpubs can't legally distribute their beers to off-site bars and retailers. Because of this, they are allowed to sell beer to-go in both growler and bottle format. Freetail has been doing this legally since 2009. It is the only exception to the three-tier system in TX that I'm aware of.

Are you moving? Unless you are bringing the whole family including grandma and grandpa that's a lot of beers.

You may want to edit that down some, you only need to add the bottles you are going to be bringing to share.

That's cool and all, but damn do I hate seeing 20+ half full bottles of beer sitting on that tasting table at 11 when everyone moves inside to start drinking Freetail beers.

That's a good point....I tend to go overboard, lol. I knocked a few off. I guess I'll save a few of the bombers for next time around. There's a bunch of 12 oz bottles on that list - so those won't go too far in bottle share.
