They had some 3F Kriek a few weeks back and the only way to buy one was to share their social media post and tag two other people. Kind of pathetic.

I don't really care enough for 3F Kriek to buy a marked up bottle let alone prove to them that I follow on IG.

HT - Terrible service and attitude. Prefer to spend elsewhere.

They usually have a very good selection of Belgians. I expect nothing more from those guys than to sell me a bottle off the shelf.

Found H24 "Wing Over" (Barrel Roll Series) at Trader Joe's today. It was only marked at $17 so I figured it was worth a shot but really happy with this one. The abv is just over 10% which is by no means light but in comparison to some of their other corked offerings (I'm looking at you cobra) this was much easier to work through. Great rye and bourbon notes but not overly boozy. Kinda reminds me of the first version of BA Bigfoot I had (much better than recent vintages)

** after further review, the bottles look like they have msrp at $25... I was right to be curious at TJs. $25 is steep for a gamble, and this beer isn't aged long (6mo). I am stoked at $17, would have been pleasantly surprised at $20 and would have skipped it at $25. Overall a good beer though

I believe this beer is just a re-branding of Hammerhead, which in the past wasn't marked above $20 (suggested retail price). I'd be surprised if they don't shelf turd for some time even at $17. A decent BA BW overall. I'm kinda curious why the name change.

    Correct, re-branded Hammerhead. Decent Barleywine.

Went to a Total Wine around the Ventura/LA counties area that had a one bottle limit on KBS. Going rate was $5.49. I would've thought there'd be a one case limit since a single bottle seems kind of nuts. And yes, I am being intentionally vague.

I had mentioned here last week (or this weekend) that Total Wine said they had all of their KBS on pre order to all those who have points membership. Higher the points puts those into a higher category. They have first dibs on purchasing KBS 4 packs. If any bottles were left over then it would go on sale to the public. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

    Dumb question here..........
KBS 2016 vs KBS? Same or not? I know KBS 2015 did hit some of the local stores here the last couple of months (in order to get the 2016 allotments). Reason I asked is because Rockin Crepes shows it on tap as KBS. And Hollingheads Deli has it shown as KBS 2016. I'm wondering if the RC is the 2015 batch?

I went by TW in HB and they had a small sign by customer service. I asked about it and the rep behind the counter said "Well we were holding them only for our highest tiered membership, but we have since changed our minds and are selling the four packs at a limit one."

Grabbed my 19.99 four pack and left. Pretty lame excuse when she was basically saying now that our best customers had a chance to buy it you can buy one now.

Boo, I called them last night when I was still in Orange County and was told they were fresh out. Also it's kind of BS that they are selling it for 19.99 for a four pack while the location I went to was selling one bottle for 5.49.

I went Friday at 230 to TW HB. Asked the manager for a 4 pack, he said, "are you a member" I replied, "yes but not top tier" he said, "well we are reserving these for our top tier members", to which I replied, "so you're telling me you are not going to give me a KBS 4 pack?", and he said, "Im going to give you one today, but make sure you get on that points program"

I then asked if he was going to be doing this for Parabola, and other special releases. He said he doesnt think so, but wasnt sure.

Friday morning at TW Brea, it showed in stock on the website so I stopped by and they told me that they hadn't got it yet and would probably get it monday. Now it shows OOS, I guess that was their way of saying your not worthy lol.
