You know, when you pay a fee to become a member and you can frequent that place to get your drink on. Are there any craft beer clubs like this? What are the laws on how you can operate? Can you sell any beer you want, bring beer for trades, etc.?

They just closed a restaurant down the street from me. I would love to do this in my neck of the woods. Bring in stuff from Nor. Cal and San Diego and have a little slice of heaven I could walk to.

    Cheers!

I have a craft beer club like this....it's in my basement. 10-15 guys come over every Friday, no fee! Also, no licensing so good ole' Uncle Sam doesn't get his cut....

everyone in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill does this for things like KBS, Ten FIDY, Hopslam, etc. Well everyone except Sams Quik Shop. I think the best was a bottle shop owner that flat out told me that he takes the highest volume customer and calls him first for things like that. I actually thought that was the loyal and honest thing to do.

Ten Fidy is that rare in your parts? In Houston, we have it on shelves year round.

I have a dream of a men's lounge with craft beer, scotch, bourbon and other spirits. It'd be like something ripped out of a 20's movie. Rooms for smoking cigars. A library for reading while you sip your drink. Pool tables in another room. TVs quietly showing the news and sports. Leather chairs. Etc.

We have all sorts of clubs like that in SC... pay for a membership and you are on a list to get in. It's one way to avoid the no smoking laws in certain parts. Some are really scary dives and some are quite nice. I'm a member of one near my house that is kind of dive-ish that is a good escape every now and then.

Those of us with more class call them "lower levels".

Whatever you wanna call it....it sure makes it easier to drink a beer at 9am when all you have to do is dim the lights a bit and draw the blinds, it gets real dark down there!!!

We have one close to that here, but just wine and beer, no spirits. But leather chairs, cigars, etc... fine place.

Just another way the poor are denied life's necessities! I kid, I kid.
Total Wine doesn't do that, at least. Does Carrboro Beverage Co?

I don't know V's experiences, but I've definitely seen it on the shelves every time I've been in my local Total Wine recently.

Shouldn't our insurance pay for this? For free? I feel that we are entitled to this under the "pursuit of happiness" clause. And we would allow women to attend along with their free contraceptives.

Ive seen it float around as well. But Bottle Revolution's club is a beer of the month club. And apparently there wasnt another rare enough beer to trump Ten FIDY. Which is fine.

Wow.. folks are having trouble finding Ten FIDY.. which is delicious. If anyone is interested, send me a message... there is a place near my house that has 4 packs from 2010 on shelves, cooled.... for about $16.. pricey but delicious.... and would love to share/trade
