Last year was my first year attending and it was a great time - tickets for this year went on sale today (they generally take a bit to sell out). http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2532485
I know, last year was 25. I can't remember how much extra tokens were because I didn't come close to using my tickets.
Same. Whatever they gave last year was more than enough. People were giving away their extra tickets.
5 is more then enough, The guess brewer's didn't take tickets and the lines for BCBS tapping, which did take tickets were so long it's best to pick and chose variants. The star of the show in my opinion was Transient Buckley, no tickets, no line... it did go fast though.
Normally I'm one of those "don't worry about it, they don't ask for tickets much" people, but given that A) some people will take tickets and B) 5 is a pretty small number regardless, I'm a little worried.
What do they typically pour at these? I've missed the last 2. Some variants? All variants? And what are the guests usually like?
Maybe this year, 1 ticket = 1 pour. Last year, weren't the specialty tappings like 3 tickets? Or, perhaps regular beer will be free, whereas specialty beers will take a ticket? Also, the crowd was decent, last year. A lot of whalez people, but you can dodge them.
Last year they had all variants, including non-bottled variants. They started by taking 3 tickets for BCS, then went to 1 ticket. Like most other ticketed events, they eventually didn't care about tickets. Guest taps were most local breweries and most of them brought decent choices. Transient Buckley was definitely the standout though.
