    i had heard that it was likely going to be very soon, and had a high probability of being on saturday. person who i heard from is close with some of the kane guys and knew it was in bottles from them. i think word spread much in the same manner...

    Convoluted but, a friend told me that it was going to happen on the Saturday before Easter (the week prior). Obviously, it didn't. I was on my way to run some errands on Saturday when the announcement popped up, so I rerouted and was able to get there and get out without hassle.

    I've missed out on some recent releases, but I like the way this is being handled.

    I agree. As a general rule I think the releases that I was able to get bottles were handled very well and the ones were I got shut out were handled abysmally

    I can probably see Kane going the route of Carton, just releasing beers on their availability list that they post on Facebook without an announcement.

    Does make sense. During the ANTEAD release it sounded like they received a lot of in-person negative feedback while any of these silent release critiques are just coming electronically. Would rather please the people they see every weekend so they dont have to hear the himming and hawing live rather then over FB/BA

    I love these releases, and I miss out on almost all of them. I live in NYC but grew up in Ocean Township NJ .5 mile from Kane. I go home 1 or 2 weekends a month to see my parents and friends and sometimes get very lucky (looking at you double barrel aged ANTEAD). If they preannouced releases of course I would schedule my visits home around them but then I would have to deal with insane crowds and I would rather not.

    I don't mind these releases at all. Morning Bell is the only BA beer I've had that I really enjoy from Kane. I missed out on BA Silent Nights but I really liked the base stout, so I assume it must have been good

    I mean even if we miss out on such releases, and least those surrounding Kane (or the mid atlantic even) can go to events where they have these beers on tap or have friends that went so we can try it.

    I love the silent releases. I make maybe 1 out of every 3. And I'm fine with that.

    The only people complaining in my humble opinion are those that feel they need to max out and mule up so they can trade for whalezbroh!

    Saw people (well a person) selling BBA Morning Bell for $120. per bottle on FB the other day. I mean, seriously?!?!?!

    What color is the wax on the DB ANTEAD? I just got one in a trade but I can't see anywhere on the bottle where they mention wine barrel aging so I'm confused.

    Labels don't change, only the wax color does. I believe DB ANTEAD was red.

    ^it's red. All ANTEAD Labels are the same.

    White = Vanilla
    Silver = Coconut
    Black = Regular
    Red = Double Barrel
    Brownish = Caco

    Should be a red wax. They used the same labels for all the variants

    I don't mind silent releases but I don't love them either being an hour away. I can't be ready to drop everything for an hour ride each way on random Saturdays. That said, I think it's a good way to get beer out to the locals and Kane supporters while keeping lines and mules to a minimum. It's also cool that they mix it up, I was able to drove down for regular Morning Bell since I was able to plan for it.

    Well said, agree 100% on all accounts, especially the "drop everything for an hour ride each way".

    Here's how I solved the silent release problem. I have a group of six mules. Each Saturday one of them gets on line at the Brewery. The rest of the group remains on call. If it looks like there is a release, the mule on line calls the others and they all cut to the front of the line with the mule that was online. (Of course I give the mules bonuses if they bring extra friends.) There are always some people on line who act like douches and yell things at my mules while they cut the line. Those people should learn some manners and the people at Kane should do something-maybe throw them out of line for being complainers and name callers. Later on in the day all of my bottles are delivered to me and my lair.

    Genius, setting up this plan with my mules now!
