Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Giant got more Hopslam than anyone this year, I think. Several years ago the one near me was selling it by the case.

I don't think Arrowine ever carried ANY Goose Island, actually. Not sure if that's because of the InBev connection or that they just didn't want piles of Honker's Ale taking up space. That's the thing about Arrowine; the space they have allotted for beer display is really tiny. They can't really put out a large amount of any one beer/brewery unless it moves very fast.

 

Getting one case of BCBS wasn't worth it to Arrow to have to carry the Goose Island core line up, even before the AB purchase. They didn't carry the core line up because it is available everywhere for much cheaper than Arrow Wine can sell it for so wasn't worth it. Arrowine does carry a good selection of Founders and kind of surprised if they didn't get any KBS.

 

Woodbridge wegmans said they're getting their shipment on Friday.

Yeah that's what I meant. Hopslam is worth getting set up, the wholesaler sold several hundred cases in VA (probably ordered more since it could go to HT and Giant). KBS is like 30cs for NOVA it seems, no problem finding a home for those.

 

I remember they had 7 or 8 cases last year, so there is obviously some sort of change in distribution for this beer.

 

Total wine Fairfax will have 12 cases of KBS tomorrow. 1pp

Literally last or has this been spotted in NOVA recently? Passed on it a few weeks ago but am tempted to grab some if it is still around.

 

Good beer but not really in same league as KBS, BCBS, or Parabola imo, hype or no hype.

 

I still have some to trade if needed.

 

Boulevard Impetial Stout for sale (12oz) at FL WF. 3$ a pop: that's an unbeatable deal. Tastes like bourbon brownies. Another ba stout I find superior to KBS!

 

Taste is subjective but give SMS a try with a year on it...ages extremely well imo

 

I have seen BCBS at Harris Teeter before. Not at Giant. I have never seen KBS at either.

 

Can't speak to Nova, but plentiful at WF FB, Magruders, and probably elsewhere in town.

 

For $3 I'd love to pick some up...but what is FL WF?

 

There's one in every thread...more for us. But I do love SMS (and it was a lot easier to get), and will give that Boulevard a try!

A few Giants in Nova got regular BCBS in the fall. The one by me had bottles priced incorrectly at $6.99 for a day or two! All the other Giant's I heard about had them at $9.99, which was still a solid deal.
