So this beer has came in to a bunch of stores in my area. Does anyone have any information about it? There are very few reviews and I have not heard any discussion regarding it. It appears to be a strong porter aged in scotch barrels, just curious if anyone else has had it.

is it a bomber more than $14? if this is just a normally priced beer why not just buy it? sounds good......

it is all about price point for me. if that was $8 i would buy it no questions. $10 i am thinking twice, $12 my wallet better be fat, $14 it better be as good as the FW DDBA.... so i don't know.

    $16? too much for beer.

Not a bad point, it is relatively inexpensive for a 750 bottle, I think 11 or 12. The problem is when I go to the store there are just too many things I want and not enough funds to get them, that by the time I get to them they are gone. Just want to know if I should prioritize this one. Either way if this is still there by the end of the week I'll update this, still looking for some opinions though as this seems to be a beer not many have tried for some reason.

Its called Meantime Hospital Porter here and its aged in Bruichladdich Octomore barrels. Tasty stuff and worth a shot for sure. Don't be put off by its unappetising British moniker as the Brits have a long long history of giving local dishes horrendously vile sounding names (spotted dick, bread and butter pudding, black pudding, brown sauce, toad in the hole, steak and kidney pie etc). In the end, if done right, they all actually turn out to be really tasty.

If it is this beer the price is a steel! I paid £9.99 (approx $14) for it over here a few months ago !!!

Bruichladdich Octomore isn't just any old scott barrel either. I've never had the whisky myself but I do know it is one of the most heavily peated scotches in the world. If I saw the beer in stores around here I would definitely buy it, but I also enjoy smoky/peaty scotches. They're not for everyone though and $15 is a lot to spend on a bottle of beer if you're not sure you'll like it.

I split a bottle at a bar with a buddy the other day. We both enjoyed it very much. Very rich flavor and extremely smooth. I believe we paid $18 for it. We found it well worth it.
