I checked on Parabola today while hunting KBS. I could get no information about when it will hit Northern New Jersey. It was mid-April last year. It's really hard to find more than a bottle or two in these parts.

Yeah Yolo Co distro got the Parabola order right, but screwed up the KBS....we won't see that til the 15th. Though not sure if Founders and FW use the same entity for Yolo.

Yea, I contacted a couple of my local liquor stores, and they said they will get KBS this week, but also didn't have any info on Parabola. I wonder when it will appear.

Didn't realize there were multiple threads on this. Reposting here as a response to my initial post:

Just picked up some bottles in Seattle. Very excited for my first taste of this beer.

Also, another shipment of Abyss Rye and Cognac versions are out. Happy hunting!

So several BevMos in NorCal got Parabola. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why one gets theres a little earlier than another. The stores I saw it at were Oakland - Jack London Square, Emeryville and Fremont. Several also had KBS as well too...and still do (but believe it or not I got a couple 4 packs of KBS locally 3 weeks ago...I don't know what the April 1st release date was all about but it was here well before that). Oakland and Emeryville don't have anymore left but I understand Albany had some today.

In regards to Parabola being a shelf turd this is simply not true around here IMHO. And I've read several people commenting that in years past they used to pick up 2 cases or more of parabola (each case contains 6 bottles). I think one could do that nowadays (I think I could've done it myself) but it'd require going back to these same stores (2 of the 3 store had 1 bottle limits) everyday 2-3 days in a row, and just making the rounds. I think I personally could've bought 4-5 from the Emeryville store because they just had them sitting out, no sign about limits and the cashier didn't know what it was but that's just not my style. I'd feel ashamed rolling up to the register with 6 parabolas in the first place and even more so getting called out on it if the manager saw me trying to do it. While I did hit several stores (I've opened myself up to be judged) I just bought one at each of them.

Oddly enough there seems to have been a second wave of Sucaba and Velvet Merkin that just got distributed around here. So those two are sitting around on shelves quite a bit. I'm also still seeing Helldorado at some places as well as of Friday.

And yes, the FW breweries must hold onto bottles to release at later dates. On Dec 22, 2015 when I went there they had Parabajava and 15' parabola available with 1/pp limits. It was a very merry xmas

Where in palm desert if you don't mind me asking? Not looking for parabola specifically but I'll be traveling there in August, trying to find some good spots. Thanks

Out of curiosity, how much were they? I saw KBS twice for $6 and Parabola once for $18, which both seem a bit high to me. Slight price gouging, or all-around higher than last year?

Several Bevmos in San Diego got shipments today. A few are already sold out. The rest probably won't last through tomorrow night.

Well, it seems like it's finally out? I'll have to visit one of the stores to see if they have it...

I just paid $15.99 for Parabola at Bevmo in NorCal. That's a buck less than MSRP and at the Brewery Store.

Probably not, but you could get lucky. Seems like Thousand Oaks got their shipments today, some are getting it tomorrow. Same with KBS. I finally had a full pour of KBS and Parabola blows KBS out of the water. It isn't really close, but I guess it a little cheaper!

I agree with this completely. This is insanely drinkable for the abv (cuz even if it's lower than previous years, 13.1% isn't exactly sessionable). It's also tasting amazing overall. It reminds me a ton of Parabajava in how fudgy and decadent it is. I'll be doing a side-by-side review of this year's against 2014 and 2015 soon, so I'll get to see how those stack up with some age. Also, for the curious, I paid $14/bottle at Trader Joe's.

Before tax I paid $15.99 for parabola & $24 or $24.99/4 pack both at Bevmo.
