Schell's Noble Star - Apricot Vista

Starkeller and Vista were much smaller batches than the others

 

They had to hold a bunch of Starkeller back, more pulp than what they had intended in a way that's cause it to be less awesome now than it was fresh. Fruit seems a bit more artificial. I think AV will hold up better with time.

 

Perhaps my brain isn't working, but I'm not following what you're saying? Had Starkeller this past weekend along with 3 de Garde peach beers. Starkeller came in 2nd (in my opinion) only behind The Peach. That bottle held up incredibly well.

 

I don't recall seeing these in Iowa at all. Are they hitting the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area at all?

 

All of them have come to IC/CR except for Apparent Horizon. Apricot Vista landed two weeks ago.

 

It was fairly available in Iowa City. I didn't buy any, but might have been able to buy a case, 2 bottles at a time, without making any more than my already excessive number of weekly trips through various beer stores.

 

Any bottles still in the twin cities, hopefully Minneapolis side? I haven't been able to find any.

 

HyVees? Johns? Both?

 

Check St. Anthony. the Hwy 88 location had a few on friday

Too far north. They have all hit the Madison market. Apricot is still at some stores, so there must have been a decent amount.

 

I figured as much. I'll be passing through that way to do a week's worth of training in Milwaukee in a couple weeks. I'm hoping my travel coincides with the release of Orbital Drift in WI, because I doubt I'll see that one up here either.

 

Seems like it wasn't as hyped. Most stores I talked to got about the same amount as they got for Startkeller.

 

This is a very good thing and I hope it continues.

Ok, so we can all agree, if Orbital Drift is amazing, tell no one.
At least until everyone gets the bottles they want.

 

It was at northern lights beer fest...and the secret it out...it will sell out just after apparent horizon does

 

I enjoyed Apricot Vista much more than Starkeller. I wish it had more funk like some of the non-fruited Berliners Schells has put out.

 

It's a winner. My favorite beer at Birch's.
